Does expedition length increase egg chance?
The longer an Aniimo stays on an expedition, the more likely it is to return with an egg of its own family, and a six-hour trip is enough to get an egg back.
Six hours is enough to bring an egg back, and every hour past that raises the percentage further. The egg always comes from the family of the Aniimo you sent, so choose who goes out by the egg you want back.
That makes an expedition, the RV trip, a substitute for breeding. It is the way to get another copy of a creature you already own. Wild eggs are a lucky find, but with an expedition you choose which family the egg comes from, and the trip length shifts the odds.
The egg still has to be hatched once it is home. That needs a free slot in the Hatchinator at the Outpost, which holds three eggs at once, plus an Anipod or Anicube. The pod you pair with the egg changes the result. Mega Anipods and Mega Anicubes add nothing here, while an Ultra Anicube guarantees at least elite potential. After hatching, take the new Aniimo to the appraisal station near the Hatchinator to see its potential and quality grade.
Not settled: The exact egg percentage for each trip length is not settled. What is known is that longer trips do better and six hours is enough.
