Egg Incubation and Hatching

Place the egg in an incubator. In practice that means the Hatchinator, which holds several eggs at once, so you can incubate more than one at a time rather than waiting on each in turn.

When an egg is ready, you need an Anipod or an Anicube to open it and receive the Aniimo inside. The game asks you to select the pod first, and that pod is paired with the egg as part of the hatch. That pairing is why the pod is a real decision and not a formality: it can alter what the egg gives you.

Once it hatches, the Aniimo is yours, but its potential and individual traits stay hidden until you check them at the appraisal station. More on that below.

The Hatchinator at the Outpost has three egg slots, so it can incubate up to three eggs at the same time.

The catch is the center slot. It is reserved for special eggs, the golden, orange-bordered legendary ones, and it will not accept standard purple eggs. If you only have regular eggs on hand, the middle slot simply stays empty. Plan around that rather than expecting all three slots to take whatever you collected.

Pods range from regular ones up to special Ultra and Sparkling pods, and the choice affects the hatch result. Not every upgrade counts, though.

Mega Anipods and Mega Anicubes do not alter egg hatching results and provide no additional effects. Whatever they are good for, it is not hatching, so do not spend them here expecting a better Aniimo.

An Ultra Anicube is the one with a clear payoff: it guarantees the hatched Aniimo has at least elite potential. What an Ultra Anipod guarantees is not settled yet, with descriptions ranging from a firm minimum to only a chance of Elite potential. Sparkling is handled differently. A Sparkling (Shiny) Cube can be applied to an egg while it sits in the Hatchinator, before it hatches. That means the decision comes earlier than the others: once the egg has hatched, the window has closed.

A hatched Aniimo's potential and individual traits are revealed by the hatch but not shown until checked. To see them, take the new Aniimo to the appraisal station near the Hatchinator, which reveals its potential and quality grade.

Do this before you build a team around anything. It is the only way to know whether the pod you chose actually delivered, and the station is right next to where you hatched it.

There are four main ways to get Aniimo eggs. Regular (Normal) eggs are hidden throughout the open world, in nests and field spawns, and you collect them as items. Alpha eggs turn up when you explore specific locations. Egg types and what each one guarantees are covered in depth in their own article.

Expeditions (RV trips) can bring back an egg of the Aniimo you sent out, which makes them a substitute for breeding. The longer an Aniimo stays out, the more likely it is to return with an egg of its own family, and a six-hour trip is enough to get one back.

Egg Heist eggs feed a different reward. Prismana Shell Shards are earned in Egg Heist, both as rare loose loot and by hatching the eggs you collect there, Umbral eggs included. The amount depends on the egg, and a standard ruins egg gives one.

Fill the Hatchinator's two outer slots with standard eggs and save the center for a special one. Do not spend Mega pods on hatching. Use an Ultra Anicube when you want guaranteed elite potential, apply any Sparkling Cube before the egg hatches, and appraise every new Aniimo before you trust it on your roster.
