Does sleeping increase capture rate?
Attempting to catch an Aniimo while it is asleep significantly improves the capture success rate.

Staying undetected is what makes sleep captures practical. Catching an asleep Aniimo allows you to bypass combat entirely, completing the catch outside of battle with a single thrown pod. You can increase your success chance further by throwing while hidden inside foliage or by setting terrain traps beforehand.
Take care with your approach so you do not alert the target. Waking a wild Aniimo ruins the opportunity, and sensitive targets like Hums and Hummins burrow into the ground the moment they are startled.
Not settled: Whether sleeping can make a catch guaranteed is not settled. The displayed capture rate appears both as reaching 100% and as a large boost that still falls short of a certainty.
