Guides › How to catch wild Aniimo
Does damaging an Aniimo increase capture rate?
Depleting a wild Aniimo's HP and dealing break damage to its break gauge both increase capture success.
Engaging a wild target in combat gives you direct control over capture odds. Landing attacks to whittle down an Aniimo's HP increases the likelihood of catching it. Applying break damage during the fight expands that opening, giving you a better opportunity when aiming and throwing your pod.
This combat route is the alternative to field catches. Roaming creatures can be caught without fighting if you sneak up behind them or find them sleeping, but tough targets often resist plain throws. Bringing an Aniimo into combat, depleting its health, and inflicting break damage turns a low-probability throw into a reliable catch.
Alpha Aniimo Battles
Alpha Aniimo bosses can be battled and captured once defeated, though their base catch rates are low. Weakening and beating an Alpha such as Stellarys lets you throw pods at it, but using standard pods remains unreliable. Throwing an Aniipod Ultra after defeating the boss secures a guaranteed 100% capture.
