Guides › Helion or Lunara: Choosing a Starter
How do you aim skills with hold-to-target?
Holding down certain skills, mostly ground-targeted ones such as Lunara's and Leaping Sparks, brings up a targeting reticle to aim the area.
Hold-to-aim is mostly for ground-targeted skills, so not every skill brings up a reticle.
With Leaping Sparks, you keep the ability button held down and move the reticle onto the area you want to hit. Some of Lunara's skills work the same way.
This matters most if you started with Lunara. It is a ranged DPS that fights from the backline with wide area spells for space control, so where you place those areas is a large part of how well it plays. Every skill or Ultimate Lunara casts also grants four stacks of Silver Moon Mark. Each basic attack then uses one stack to deal 100% extra damage and restore some HP. A well-placed skill is therefore followed by four stronger basic attacks, which is where Lunara gets the self-sustain that keeps it in long fights.
