What is twinning in Aniimo?
Twinning is a core fusion mechanic in Aniimo that merges the player character with their Aniimo in combat, granting direct control of it along with access to its abilities, skills and cooldowns.
Control shifts entirely to the creature, replacing your own attacks and movement style.
You view the world directly from the Aniimo's perspective and handle all of its actions in real time. You gain its specific mobility options, attacks, and ultimate ability, managing its cooldowns as your own.
The transformation extends beyond combat into exploration. Switching into a captured Aniimo unlocks environmental traversal, puzzle solving, and out-of-combat abilities tailored to finding secrets. You can freely switch between captured Aniimo to adapt your movement and capabilities to whatever terrain or encounter you face.
Operation: Egg Heist
In Operation: Egg Heist, the mechanic applies directly to objective items. Twining with a Giant Darkler Egg transforms you into the egg itself to transport and roll it to the extraction boat.
While twined with an egg, you lose all combat abilities. Your movement is restricted to rolling, jumping, and a dash maneuver that has a cooldown. Pressing C untwines you from egg form, setting the egg down temporarily without forfeiting it so you or a teammate can retrieve it later.
