Aniimo settings, controller support and troubleshooting

Which keys open the Season hub, events and camera, how to cancel a catch without losing an Annipod, and where the code box and voice mute live.

The short version

  1. Aniimo supports PlayStation and Xbox controllers, and controller input works on mobile too.
  2. Cancelling a capture with F on PC or L2 on controller does not consume an Annipod.
  3. On PC, F1 opens the Season hub and F2 opens the events menu; F7 opens the camera tool for inspecting an Aniimo.
  4. Gift and promo codes go in Settings, under the Account tab, through the Gift Code Redemption button in the top right; the path is the same on controller and PC.
  5. An audio toggle mutes the Pathfinder's voice-over in story cutscenes, and voiceovers come in English and Chinese.

Most of what trips people up in Aniimo is not a bug. It is a menu you cannot find, a key nobody told you about, or a setting buried one tab deeper than you expected.

This page collects the controls and settings that matter: what your controller does, which function keys open what on PC, where codes go, and which display and audio options you can change. Where the game's behaviour is not settled, it says so.

Controller support and the buttons worth learning

Aniimo takes controller input, including PlayStation and Xbox pads, and that support extends across its platforms, mobile included. Platform availability itself is covered in our platforms and release article; the short version here is that a pad is a first-class way to play.

A few inputs save real frustration. Holding Triangle opens a shortcut wheel, and pushing the left stick up from that wheel takes you straight to the Season 1 interface. If you start a capture and change your mind, cancel it with L2 on controller (F on PC). Backing out this way does not consume an Annipod, so there is no reason to throw at a bad angle just because you have already committed to catch mode.

In your Homeland, placed furniture and items come back out with the recycle action, which is Square or X on controller. They return to your inventory rather than vanishing, so rearranging costs you nothing.

One combat detail confuses people who expect more from their second creature. The Aniimo in the assist slot can only use its core skill, and that core skill is exactly what the Alt swap shortcut triggers. If the assist feels limited, that is by design.

PC function keys: seasons, events and the camera

On keyboard, the function row does most of the navigating. F1 opens the Season hub, also called the Season Center. This is where the event offering the Fulmintis egg sits, and the Stamp Shop is the bottom-left option on that screen.

F2 opens the events menu. Between them, F1 and F2 cover the regular event list, while seasonal events show up in the top-right of the interface. If an event seems to be missing, check all three places before assuming something is wrong.

F7 opens the camera tool, which lets you switch angles to inspect an Aniimo up close. For proper pictures there is also an integrated photo mode that handles full-team shots, individual creature posing, filters and other settings.

Codes and the Account tab

Gift, promo and redeem codes all go through the same place: the in-game Settings menu, under the Account tab. The Gift Code Redemption button sits in the top right corner of that tab.

The path is identical on controller and PC, so you do not need a keyboard to claim a code.

Audio and language options

Aniimo is available in English, Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Indonesian. Voiceovers come in English and Chinese.

If the protagonist's lines grate, there is an audio settings toggle that mutes the Pathfinder's voice-over during story cutscenes. The rest of the scene plays as normal.

World display, other players and the unsettled options

You can hide other players' messages and markers in the world through the settings, including the mark sharing options. If your screen is cluttered with other people's pins, this is the fix. Gifting, visits and the wider social side have their own article.

Time of day can be changed manually, anywhere from morning through to late night. How you do it is not settled. It is given both as a day and night toggle on the map screen and as an option in the start (escape) menu offering early morning, dusk and night, with the start menu version also said to change the weather. Check both if one does not appear for you.

Auto voice, which automatically joins you to voice chat, is also unsettled. It is described both as on by default and as off until you turn it on manually. If you care whether your microphone joins a channel, open the chat settings and look rather than trusting the default.

Where to start

If something seems missing, check the obvious place first: F1, F2 or the top-right corner for events, and the Account tab for codes. Cancel bad throws with F or L2 instead of wasting an Annipod. Open the chat settings once and check auto voice yourself, because its default is not settled.
