The short version

  1. Fire Aniimo cover three jobs in the Homeland: cooking, smelting and supplying heat. They also get proficiency bonuses when they are assigned to cooking.
  2. Mines and mining plots are best staffed by Earth-type Aniimo with a high ground stat. Grisbow is a strong pick because it has level 3 Earth and level 3 Hauling.
  3. The Aniipod Maker needs a Lightning (electric) Aniimo and has no personality requirement. Lightning types also provide power across the Homeland.
  4. Water-type Aniimo water your plants automatically, and Grass-type Aniimo handle planting and harvesting.
  5. An upgraded (orange) elemental facility gives a 5-point bonus to its element, so upgrading a station makes the matching element even better at it.

Homeland jobs follow element. Once you know which element does what, staffing your base stops being guesswork: you look at a station, you know the type it wants, and you pick the best Aniimo of that type you own.

This guide goes station by station. Fire first, because it covers the most jobs. Then Earth for mining, Lightning for power, and Water and Grass for the fields. It finishes with facility upgrades and a couple of jobs that care about a specific family or role rather than an element.

Fire Aniimo: cooking, smelting and heating

Fire is the busiest element in the Homeland. A Fire Aniimo can cook, smelt and supply heat, so one type covers your kitchen, your furnace and your warm ground.

Cooking is where Fire is strongest. Fire-type Aniimo specialize in it and get proficiency bonuses when you assign them to cooking tasks. If you only have one good Fire Aniimo, put it in the kitchen. Smelting and heating still need Fire, but cooking is the job they are built for.

Heat matters for your crops too. Crop fields have a cold zone and a hot zone, and you set a plot's temperature by assigning an Aniimo to heat it. That makes Fire the element you reach for when a field needs warming. Which crops want which zone is its own topic, covered in our crops guide.

Earth Aniimo: mines and mining plots

Earth-type Aniimo specialize in mining stone and mineral resources. Mines and mining plots are best staffed by Earth types with a high ground stat, so when you compare two Earth Aniimo for the mine, the ground stat is the number to check.

Grisbow is a good example of what to look for. It has level 3 Earth as a home ability, along with level 3 Hauling (Carry). That pairing makes it a solid all round worker for the mining side of your base, where there is both digging and moving to be done.

Lightning Aniimo: power and the Aniipod Maker

Lightning-type Aniimo specialize in electricity and provide power in the Homeland. Any station that runs on power is a Lightning job.

The one hard requirement worth knowing is the Aniipod Maker. It needs a Lightning (electric) element Aniimo, and it has no personality requirement. Any Lightning Aniimo will do, so you do not need to hunt for a particular temperament before you can use it.

For crafting, look at Blazen. It has level 3 Artisanship as a home ability, and it also has level 3 Lightning and Climbing. That means a single Blazen can cover artisan work and still count as a Lightning worker, which is useful when your Lightning Aniimo are spread thin.

Water and Grass Aniimo: the crop fields

Your fields need two elements working together. Water-type Aniimo water plants automatically in the Homeland base, so once one is assigned you do not have to water by hand. Grass-type Aniimo handle planting and harvesting.

Put those next to the Fire Aniimo heating the hot zone and you have the full farming crew: Grass to plant and harvest, Water to keep things watered, Fire for temperature. If your fields stall, it is usually a missing worker, food or seeds, and our guide on why Homeland production stops covers that in full.

Upgraded facilities and family jobs

Upgrading a station raises what its element brings. An upgraded (orange) elemental facility grants a 5-point bonus to its element. Since every job above is tied to an element, it pays to upgrade the stations whose element you lean on most, such as the kitchen if you have a strong Fire cook.

A few jobs ask for something other than an element. Assigning an Aniimo from the Nimbi family to a Nimbus Bed produces wool, so that bed is about family, not type. Woodlands on your plot are worked by gathering Aniimo and generate materials passively, so a gatherer there keeps producing without you needing to check in.

Upgraded facility element bonus

An upgraded orange elemental facility grants a 5 point bonus to its element, which matters when you choose which facility to staff.

Where to start

Staff by element: Fire in the kitchen first, then smelting and heat. Earth with a high ground stat in the mines, and Grisbow if you have it. Lightning on power and the Aniipod Maker, with Blazen covering artisan work. Water and Grass on the fields. Upgrade the stations you use most to orange for the 5-point element bonus, and keep a Nimbi Aniimo on the Nimbus Bed for wool.
