How to craft Aniipods with the Homeland Aniipod Maker
The Aniipod Maker crafts pods up to Mega tier while you are offline, if a Lightning Aniimo runs it. Hypers can't be crafted, and the legendary pod comes from Petals.
The short version
- The Aniipod Maker is a Homeland facility that passively crafts normal Aniipods, Aniipod Pros and Aniipod Megas, and keeps working while you are offline.
- It needs a Lightning (electric) element Aniimo assigned to it, and that Aniimo's personality does not matter.
- Aniipod Hypers cannot currently be crafted; they come from the companion handbook, adventure tokens or shops.
- Upgrading Homeland structures such as rock nodes to tier two unlocks the materials for higher-tier craftable pods, and shells are consumed to craft them.
- Craft the Legendary Aniipod before spending Petals in the event shop, because some event store items, such as Glimmering Driftshadow, stay locked until you do.
You can craft your own Aniipods. Build an Aniipod Maker in your Homeland base, put the right Aniimo to work in it, and it turns out capture pods on its own, including while you are logged off.
It covers the everyday tiers, but not all of them. It makes standard Aniipods, Pros and Megas. Hypers come from elsewhere, and the pods for legendary Aniimo are crafted separately with Petals.
This guide covers building and staffing the Maker, what it can and cannot produce, the materials behind it, the other places pods turn up, and how crafting the Irisalis Anipod opens the way to a legendary Aniimo.
Building and staffing the Aniipod Maker
The Aniipod Maker is a facility you build in your Homeland base. You can craft Aniipods, Pros included, at your Homeland housing plot, and the RV Homestead also has an Aniipod Maker facility that gives you a continuous supply.
Staffing is simple. The Maker needs a Lightning (electric) element Aniimo, and there is no personality requirement. Any electric Aniimo you have spare will do the job.
Once it is staffed, it works passively. A developed Homeland produces standard Aniipods and Growth Fruit over time through facilities staffed by assigned Aniimo, and those facilities keep working while you are offline. The Maker becomes a steady background source of pods, so you stop rationing them.
Which Aniipod tiers you can craft
The Maker crafts capture pods up to the Aniipod Mega tier. That means three tiers: normal Aniipods, Aniipod Pros and Aniipod Megas.
Hypers are the exception. Aniipod Hypers cannot currently be crafted, so you have to get them through the companion handbook, adventure tokens or shops.
The craftable tiers also come from other places, which is worth knowing while your Homeland is still small. Pros turn up in chests, quests, exploration and shops. Megas come from quests, tutorials, shops and battle pass rewards.
- AniipodCrafted at the Aniipod Maker. Also found on the ground and in chests.
- Aniipod ProCrafted through Homeland production. Also from chests, quests, exploration and shops.
- Aniipod MegaThe highest tier the Maker crafts. Also from quests, shops, legendary chests and battle pass rewards.
- Aniipod HyperCannot be crafted yet. Comes from the companion handbook, adventure tokens or shops.
Shells and tier two upgrades
Pods cost materials. Basic Aniipods are crafted through Homeland systems using mined shells, and shells are also consumed when you craft higher pods such as Megas.
The higher tiers need more than shells alone. Upgrading Homeland structures such as rock nodes to tier two unlocks the materials for higher-tier craftable Aniipods. If your Maker only turns out basic pods, look at your rock nodes first.
Other places to get Aniipods, and when cheap ones are enough
You will not run short early on. Aniipods are easy to find: they lie on the ground throughout the world and sit in treasure chests. Open-world chests award Sparkling Crystals, and legendary chests can also give you Aniipod Megas and held items.
You can also buy them from the outpost vendor, Joff, without going back to a station. In the field, open Shop > Corner Shop > Exchange. Outpost vendors such as Outpost Guardian Joff also sell Tumblers, at 200,000 currency each.
High-tier pods are often unnecessary. Sleeping Aniimo have a 100% catch rate and can be caught with the cheapest capture pod. The Tubster farming method gives a catch rate of roughly 90% or higher, even with the cheapest Aniipods. Save your Megas for catches that need them, and let the basic pods from the Maker cover the rest.

How to get legendary Aniimo: crafting the Irisalis Anipod
Legendary Aniimo need their own pod. The Irisalis Anipod is a dedicated legendary pod used to capture the legendary Aniimo Irisalis, and crafting it does more than give you the pod.
Crafting it unlocks a dedicated story quest for Irisalis and reveals the encounter on the world map. It also unlocks the rift space encounter where Irisalis lives. In practice, the pod is the key that opens the encounter.
After the Irisalis Anipod, you can spend Iris Petals to craft a second legendary pod, the Windchaser's Departure Anipod.
The catch is the event shop. Crafting the Legendary Aniipod is required before you can buy some event store items, such as Glimmering Driftshadow. Do not spend Petals in the event shop until you have crafted the pod.
Where to start
Build the Aniipod Maker early, staff it with any Lightning Aniimo, and get your rock nodes to tier two so it can make Pros and Megas. Get Hypers from the handbook, adventure tokens or shops. Keep your Petals out of the event shop until you have crafted the Irisalis Anipod.
