Bloom nurturing for Prismana: charges, shards and release

Free nurtures stack to three and earn a 50% bonus. Shards choose what spawns but add no charge. Release only opens once every surge target is caught.

The short version

  1. Nurturing a region's Blooms is the main way to charge its Prismatic Energy and the main way to generate Prismana Flow, which is how region-tied Prismana Aniimo are attracted and captured.
  2. Free nurture attempts regenerate over time and bank up to three at once; after that, each extra attempt costs currency, normally one Vein Essence.
  3. The 50% Prismatic Energy bonus applies to the free daily attempts and to the Friday to Sunday Vein Abundance weekend, covers only three Nurture attempts, and works only on the event bloom.
  4. Shards and offerings decide what spawns (an elemental shard brings 20 Aniimo of that element's family, a dark shard brings only its specific Aniimo) but add nothing to the bloom bar.
  5. You release the stored energy by catching every target Aniimo in the zone's Wild Surge and then interacting with the flower, which substantially raises the area's Prismatic Energy State.

If you want Prismana Aniimo, you are going to spend a lot of time at Blooms. Nurturing a region's Blooms cultivates the area and raises that region's Prismatic Energy, and the nurture system is how region-tied Prismana Aniimo are attracted and captured.

The loop has three parts. You charge the Bloom with nurtures, using free charges first and Vein Essence after. You decide what turns up by offering shards. Then you release the stored energy into the zone. Each part has its own rules and its own way of wasting resources, so this page takes them in order.

How nurturing leads to Prismana Aniimo

Nurturing charges an area's prismatic energy bar and is the primary method of generating Prismana Flow. Nurturing a Bloom with Vein Essence fills its local prismatic energy, which triggers a Prismana event and spawns Prismana Aniimo. Prismana forms come from infusing energy into bloom fruit flowers through this same system.

Prismana Aniimo are encountered and captured in the open world through Blooms, by cultivation: nurturing regional branches or blooms with offerings of flowers. Whether that is the primary route to them or only an alternative one is not settled.

The exact spawn trigger is also unsettled. One version has the Prismana Aniimo appear immediately once the bloom reaches the abundant stage. The other makes it only a chance when the energy you built up by nurturing (which sacrifices crystals) is released after completing bloom events, with a spawn eventually guaranteed. Either way, the gauge stage matters: higher nurture (cultivation) gauge stages can spawn higher or final evolutions of the attracted Aniimo, so pushing a Bloom further is worth more than spreading thin charges around.

Free nurture charges and Vein Essence costs

Free bloom nurture attempts regenerate over time and bank up to a maximum of three at once. The allowance itself is build-dependent and has been given several ways: three free charges, one free nurture every 24 hours stacking to three, three free nurtures per day, one per day upon unlocking the feature, 21 per week, three nurture stones every three days, and three regenerating attempts shared with essence abundance that can reach unique rank. The cap of three is the part that holds across all of them, so letting charges sit at the cap is time you are not getting back.

Once the free ones are gone, each extra attempt costs currency, normally one Vein Essence per attempt. The cost is also given as Prismatic Energy Shards. Each attempt fills the nurture bar and draws large numbers of nearby Aniimo to the area, such as Prismana Aniimo at Breezy Plains branches.

The free attempts are not just a discount. Daily free nurture attempts give a 50% bonus rate to prismatic energy gains, up to three times per day. Use them during the Prismana event; skipping them makes the event take much longer. The broader case for spending free charges before paid ones is covered in our beginner mistakes guide.

The weekend 50% bonus and where it applies

Vein Abundance surges, such as the Forest of Falling Stars event, run weekly from Friday to Sunday for the Prismana run. Over that window, nurturing blooms gives a 50% bonus to the prismatic energy gained.

There are two limits. The bonus applies to only three Nurture attempts, not every nurture you make over the weekend. And the 50% bonus applies exclusively to the event bloom rather than all blooms, so a weekend charge spent on some other Bloom gets the normal rate. If you are saving Vein Essence for a push, the event bloom on a Friday to Sunday weekend is where those three boosted attempts belong.

50%

Weekend nurture bonus to Prismatic Energy

It runs Friday through Sunday but covers only three Nurture attempts on the event bloom, so save your free charges for it.

Shards and offerings: choosing what spawns

Shards do not make a Bloom charge faster. Offerings and shards do not alter the amount of charge or progression contributed to the bloom bar. What they change is who turns up.

Offering a shard as tribute at a bloom controls what spawns. An elemental shard spawns 20 Aniimo of that element's family. A dark shard spawns only its specific Aniimo. Shards can be socketed into a bloom before starting a Nurture to attract a particular type of Aniimo, so set the shard first and nurture second.

If you are after one creature in particular, this is not optional: targeting or summoning a specific Aniimo surge requires that creature's corresponding shard or crystal.

Elemental shard or dark shard

Elemental shard

  • Offered as tribute at a bloom
  • Spawns 20 Aniimo of that element's family
  • Does not change the charge added to the bloom bar

Dark shard

  • Offered as tribute at a bloom
  • Spawns only its specific Aniimo
  • Does not change the charge added to the bloom bar

Releasing the stored Prismatic Energy

Charging a Bloom stores energy; releasing it is what moves the region. Nurturing a bloom and then releasing it once it is filled expels prismatic energy, which substantially raises the Prismatic Energy State of that area. When a Bloom's nurture timer ends, you release the prismatic energy at the Bloom, and the biome's level rises as normal.

Release has a gate. You unlock the option by catching every target Aniimo during the Wild Surge in that zone, and then you release it by interacting with the zone's flower. Leave a target uncaught and the option stays locked. Prismatic energy collected in a Nurture is turned in the same way, by interacting with the bloom tree to fill its energy bar.

Two things speed the whole region along. Nurturing Aniimo builds up regional care points, and gathering approximately 10,000 of them guarantees a Prismana Flow. And you do not have to work alone: nurturing and participating in another player's bloom shares and increases regional prismatic energy.

Where to start

Spend your free charges before they hit the cap of three, and save paid Vein Essence for the event bloom on a Friday to Sunday weekend. Socket the right shard before you nurture, since shards pick the spawn but add no charge. Then catch every surge target so you can release the energy at the flower. Join other players' blooms whenever you can, because that energy is shared.
