Bloom nurture: daily free attempts and shard offerings
Free bloom charges refill at one a day and bank to three. After that each nurture costs a Vein Essence, and the shard you offer decides which Aniimo spawn.
The short version
- Bloom nurture charges refill at one per day and bank up to three, so you can skip two days and lose nothing.
- Once your free charges are gone, each extra nurture costs one Vein Essence.
- Vein Essence comes from the Stamp Shop, or from the daily trader in Astra, who sells up to two a day.
- The shard you offer decides what spawns: an elemental shard brings 20 Aniimo of that element's family, and a dark shard brings only its specific Aniimo.
- You can't nurture in an area until you hold its bronze capture badge and have caught at least 40% of the Aniimo there.
Bloom nurturing is how you make a specific Aniimo spawn instead of hoping one wanders past. You start a nurture at a bloom, feed it, and the bloom fills with creatures. What you feed it decides which creatures turn up.
It isn't unlimited. You get a small daily allowance of free nurtures. Every attempt after that costs Vein Essence, and that is the resource worth planning around. This page covers how many free attempts you get, what the extra ones cost, how shard offerings control Aniimo spawns, and what you need before an area lets you nurture at all.
How many free bloom nurtures you get per day
Free nurtures work as charges. You gain one charge per day and can hold three at most. Without node upgrades, that is your daily limit.
Because the charges bank, you don't need to log in every day to keep up. Skip a couple of days and you come back to a full stack of three. Once you're holding three, though, the next day's charge has nowhere to go, so a full stack is a reason to spend one.
The exact size of the allowance is not settled. It has been given as three free charges, as one free nurture every 24 hours stacking to three, as three free nurtures per day, as one per day once you unlock the feature, as 21 per week, as three nurture stones every three days, and as three regenerating attempts shared with essence abundance that can reach unique rank. Every version agrees on the shape: attempts regenerate over time and cap at three banked.
What each extra nurture costs in Vein Essence
When your free attempts run out, nurturing a bloom or a branch starts to cost Vein Essence. The price is one Vein Essence per attempt. The currency for extra attempts has also been given as Prismatic Energy Shards, so that part is not fully settled, but Vein Essence is the cost you will normally see.
You can get Vein Essence in two places. The Stamp Shop sells it, paid for with real money or in-game currency. The daily trader in Astra sells up to two Vein Essences per day, which is the steady trickle if you'd rather not pay.
So the cheap routine is simple. Use your free charges, then buy the trader's Vein Essence in Astra for any extra attempts you actually need.
How shard offerings decide which Aniimo spawn
Offerings are how you steer Aniimo spawns. You socket a shard into the bloom before you start the nurture, and it pulls a particular type of Aniimo.
The two kinds of shard behave very differently. An elemental shard spawns 20 Aniimo from that element's family. That is a wide net: good when you want anything of one element, less good when you want one creature. A dark shard spawns only its specific Aniimo. That is the precise tool, for when you know exactly what you're after.
One thing offerings don't do is speed you up. Shards and offerings add nothing to the charge or progress on the bloom bar. They change what spawns, not how fast the bloom fills.
Blooms are also how you get Prismana Aniimo, by nurturing regional branches or blooms with flower offerings. That system has its own page. The one point worth knowing here is that a Prismana Flow event guarantees the area's Prismana Aniimo will spawn.
Elemental shard
- Spawns 20 Aniimo of that element's family
- Raises the attraction chance for that Aniimo type
- Does not change the charge added to the bloom bar
Dark shard
- Spawns only its specific Aniimo
- Socketed before starting a Nurture, like any shard
- Does not change the charge added to the bloom bar
What unlocks nurturing in an area
Nurturing is gated area by area. To nurture in an area you need that area's bronze capture badge. You also can't join nurture events there until you've caught at least 40% of the Aniimo in it.
In practice, a new region starts with ordinary catching. Work through what's in the area, earn the badge, and the blooms open up after that. If a bloom won't let you nurture, your catch count in that area is the first thing to check.
40%
Share of an area's Aniimo you must catch
Catching what the bloom spawns
A bloom full of the right Aniimo is wasted if they get away. The usual capture rule still applies during bloom events: bring an Aniimo's HP down before you throw and your odds improve.
This matters most with a dark shard. You've spent a charge, or a Vein Essence, to get exactly one creature, so it's worth taking it low before you throw rather than throwing straight away.
Where to start
Spend your free charges before the stack hits three, buy the Astra trader's Vein Essence each day if you nurture a lot, and choose your shard for the result you want: elemental for anything of one element, dark for one specific Aniimo. If an area won't let you nurture yet, catch more of what lives there first.
