When to spend Vein Essence: free charges and weekend bonus

Vein Essence is used to obtain limited-time Prismana Aniimo, and its supply is the main limit on how many you can get. Everything else in the Prismana run is either free or cheap by comparison.

That supply is tight. Vein Essence is a scarce, limited resource that is difficult to obtain and runs out quickly. Every point you spend at a bad moment is a point you do not have when it would have done more. Treat it as the thing you are rationing, and plan around it.

Vein Abundance surges, such as the Forest of Falling Stars event, run weekly from Friday to Sunday for the Prismana run. During one, nurturing a bloom gives a 50% bonus to the prismatic energy you gain. The event repeats, so the bonus comes back every weekend.

The catch is how narrow it is. The bonus applies to only three Nurture attempts per event, and it applies exclusively to the event bloom rather than to all blooms. It is not a weekend where every nurture is boosted. It is three boosted nurtures on one specific bloom.

That is still enough to change your timing. Spending Vein Essence before the scheduled weekend bonus uses more of it than waiting for the bonus. If you are about to pay for a nurture midweek and the weekend is close, hold off. The same essence buys more prismatic energy once the surge is live.

During the event itself, use the free nurturing attempts. Skipping them makes the event take much longer.

You get three free tree nurtures or bloom activations each day. Daily free nurture attempts give a 50% bonus rate to prismatic energy gains, up to three times per day.

Those free attempts stop accruing at the three-nurture cap. Once you are holding all three, any you would have earned are simply lost. Leaving them full wastes them, so spend them rather than saving them up.

Past the free attempts, nurturing a bloom costs one Vein Essence per attempt. That is the order to work in: free charges first, every day, and paid nurtures only once those are gone, ideally on the weekend bloom.

Nurturing is not the only thing competing for your essence. In an Aniimo Discovery event, such as the search for Dazmin, you get three free search attempts. Once those are used, you can buy extra searches with Vein Essence, at one Vein Essence each.

So every point of essence is a choice between one paid nurture and one paid search, at the same price. Use the free searches and the free nurtures before paying for either. When you do pay, put the essence where it moves you closest to the Prismana you actually want, and remember that a paid nurture on the boosted weekend bloom does more than one on any other day.

You do not have to spend essence to make progress. Farming lucky catches is an alternative to nurturing with Vein Essence, both for raising prismatic energy and for obtaining a Prismana.

The Tubster Prismana farming method is the other option. It needs few resources and no Vein Essence at all. If your essence is running low, or you want to save it for a limited-time Prismana you cannot get any other way, these essence-free routes let you keep progressing while your supply sits untouched.

Use free Discovery searches before paying for more, and use lucky catches or the Tubster method whenever you would rather keep your Vein Essence.
