Day-One Priorities in Aniimo

A first-session order of operations for Aniimo, from server select to your first weekly Stamps Shop refresh.

The short version

  • Server selection comes first, then character creation, then an introductory sequence before you get a starter choice.
  • You catch several Aniimo before the game formally asks you to pick between Lunara and Helion.
  • Emberpup spawns to your right as you enter the world, and its line is a strong early priority.
  • Unlock talents early. They improve combat effectiveness and there is no reason to sit on them.
  • Start Homeland tasks early to level the RV quickly.
  • Collect Lumin Amber as you quest. An on-screen alert tells you when one is near.
  • Save Anipod Ultras for Alpha Aniimo.
  • The Stamps Shop refreshes weekly and includes a chance at the Legendary Aniimo Irisalis.

Aniimo's loop is simple to describe: explore the world, run into creatures, catch them, build a team, fight things. The first session is where you decide how well the rest of that loop treats you.

Most of what follows costs you nothing but sequence. Doing Homeland tasks early is worth more than doing them later. Picking up Lumin Amber as you pass it is worth more than coming back for it. Catching broadly in the first region is worth more than holding out for something better.

Here is the order to work through, and why each step earns its place.

The opening sequence, and what it is actually teaching you

Server selection is the first decision, and character creation follows immediately. After that comes an introductory sequence that sets up the world before you are given any starter.

Note the order there. You will encounter and capture several Aniimo before the game presents a formal starter selection, so the first creatures you own are not the ones you chose. The formal choice, when it arrives, is between two starter companions: Lunara and Helion. Once you have picked, the game teaches you twining.

The tutorial covers movement, combat, and twining with Aniimo, and the early quests build on that by teaching catching, twining, combat, and elemental counters. Do all of them. This is the only point where the game hands you the systems one at a time, and elemental counters in particular are the sort of thing you would rather learn from a scripted fight than from losing a real one.

How the opening actually unfolds
  1. Server selectionOne of the first decisions you make when starting the game.
  2. Character creationBegins immediately after you pick a server.
  3. Introductory sequenceIntroduces the world to you before any starter choice.
  4. Your first capturesYou encounter and capture several Aniimo before any formal starter screen.
  5. Starter selectionThe formal starter choice arrives only after those early captures.
  6. Twining tutorialOnce a starter is chosen, the game teaches you the twining mechanic.

Catch broadly before you catch selectively

The strong temptation in a creature collector is to skip the early roster and wait for something better. Do not do that here. Early starting creatures are worth keeping, and the creatures in the early areas cover a variety of elements and abilities, which is exactly what you want while you are still working out what your team should look like.

The long game supports this too. Aniimo recommended for the early game stay viable through the endgame if you give them strong carry items. What looks like a starter-tier creature is not automatically a placeholder.

One line deserves specific attention. The Emberpup evolutionary line is a strong early priority, and Emberpup spawns to the right of the player on entering the world, so you can go and get it immediately. It also moves faster than mounts and other rapid creatures, including the hoverboard. That is a traversal upgrade disguised as a catch. More generally, your traversal options expand as you capture and collect more Aniimo, which is another reason to catch wide rather than deep in the first region.

One restraint to practise while you are catching everything: keep your high-tier Anipods out of it. Anipod Ultras are for Alpha Aniimo. Spending them on standard wild Aniimo wastes the thing you will want later.

Emberpup spawns to your right as you enter the world. Its line is a strong early priority, and it moves faster than mounts and other quick creatures, including the hoverboard.

Talents and Homeland, both as early as you can

Unlock talents early. They improve your combat effectiveness, and the earlier they come online the more fights they carry you through.

Homeland is the other system worth opening on day one. Engaging with Homeland tasks early levels your RV quickly, and RV level is not something you want to be catching up on later. Both of these are pure sequencing wins. The work is the same whenever you do it, but doing it now means everything after it goes better.

Lumin Amber and the resource squeeze

Upgrade materials are limited, and the resources you gather are spread across several different upgrade systems. That combination means you should plan your allocation rather than dumping everything into whatever you are looking at.

Lumin Amber is the one to be diligent about. Collect it opportunistically as you quest and you avoid tedious backtracking later, which is the worst kind of catch-up work. The game helps: an on-screen alert tells you whenever a Lumin Amber is nearby. Treat that alert as a small detour you always take.

Why rushing the story costs you

Exploring and completing map challenges naturally beats rushing through content. Run side quests alongside the main story quest rather than saving them for later, because completing quests is one of the easiest sources of Player XP. Blasting through the critical path skips the cheapest XP in the game and leaves the map unopened behind you.

One fixed appointment belongs in your first week: the Stamps Shop. It refreshes weekly, it stocks valuable items, and it includes a chance at the Legendary Aniimo Irisalis. Make it a primary focus while you are getting started.

Where to start

Work the list in order: finish the tutorial quests, catch everything in the first region, unlock talents, open Homeland, pick up Lumin Amber whenever the alert fires, and check the Stamps Shop each week. The story will still be there when you get to it.
