Do team damage buffs stack? Turbo, Nimbi and Spark Elf

Turbo's burst boost won't stack with other effects, but its passive stacks double Nimbi Burst. Spark Elf's Fire buffs do stack, up to a 70% team bonus.

The short version

  1. Turbo's burst ability gives a flat damage increase that does not stack with other effects, so don't count it on top of a second team buff.
  2. Nimbi Burst raises the whole team's damage by 15% for 20 seconds, and that rises to 30% once Turbo has its four passive stacks.
  3. Spark Elf's buffs can be stacked, taking the team's Fire damage bonus up to 70%. Its core skill Inspiration alone gives 16% team Fire damage.
  4. Turbo's core skill raises team damage and break efficiency by 15%, and Luminel's skill raises break efficiency to 24, so both work on break.
  5. Turbo also brings defence: Cloud Shield grants a mist shield.

Team damage buffs in Aniimo don't all add together. Some are flat boosts that refuse to stack with anything else. Others build on each other until the numbers get large. Knowing which is which decides whether a second buffer on your team is doing real work or sitting there doing nothing.

Three names come up most: Turbo, Nimbi and Spark Elf. Turbo is the awkward one, because it has a buff that doesn't stack and also a passive that makes another creature's buff twice as strong. Spark Elf sits at the other end. Its Fire buffs are built to pile up.

This page covers how those three combine, where break efficiency comes in, and what Turbo's shield adds to its damage role.

Turbo's burst boost does not stack

Turbo
Turbo

Turbo's burst ability gives the team a flat damage increase. The catch is that this boost does not stack with other effects. If another flat team buff is already up, Turbo's burst doesn't add on top of it.

That doesn't make Turbo a poor damage support. Its core skill increases team damage and break efficiency by 15%, and that is a separate part of its kit from the burst. Treat the burst as the piece that overlaps with other buffs, and build on the parts that don't.

Nimbi Burst and Turbo's four passive stacks

Nimbi
Nimbi

Nimbi Burst increases the whole team's damage by 15% for 20 seconds. On its own that is a solid, timed window to save your big hits for.

With Turbo it gets better. Once Turbo has its four passive stacks, Nimbi Burst rises to 30%. Notice which part of Turbo is doing this: its passive stacks, not its burst. So Turbo's burst refusing to stack and Turbo boosting Nimbi are two different mechanics, and they don't contradict each other.

In practice that means getting Turbo to four stacks before you fire Nimbi Burst. Fire it early and you get the 15% version for the full 20 seconds.

Nimbi Burst team damage with four Turbo stacks

Nimbi Burst gives the whole team 15% damage for 20 seconds, and it rises to 30% once Turbo has four passive stacks.

Spark Elf: the Fire buffs that do stack

Spark Elf works the other way. Its buffs can be stacked, and together they bring the team's Fire damage bonus up to 70%.

The pieces come from several skills. Its core skill, Inspiration, increases the team's Fire damage by 16%. It has other skills that apply buffs, including one that buffs only itself. Its ultimate buff applies to the team and boosts Fire-type members when it lands.

The limit is the element. Every team buff here is Fire damage, so Spark Elf pays off on a team built around Fire attackers and does far less for anyone else. How those buffs combine with Fire debuffs from other creatures has its own page; the point here is that Spark Elf's own buffs stack with each other, which Turbo's burst does not.

Spark Elf's buffs stack, so a team built around Fire members can reach a 70% Fire damage bonus.

Break efficiency: Turbo and Luminel

Damage isn't the only thing these supports push. Turbo's core skill raises break efficiency by 15% along with team damage. Luminel boosts break too, with her skill raising break efficiency to 24.

If your team relies on breaking enemies, both are worth a look. Turbo gives you break and damage from one skill, while Luminel is the specialist for break.

What Turbo's shield adds

Turbo isn't only a buffer. It provides shielding through an ability called Cloud Shield, which grants a mist shield. So a Turbo slot pays you twice: damage and break from its core skill, and protection from Cloud Shield.

Cloud Shield, Shrouded in Mist and Prismana Form each have a full write-up on the Turbo page. For buff stacking, what matters is that Turbo's shield comes on top of its damage role and doesn't replace it.

Where to start

Don't count Turbo's burst on top of another flat team buff, because it won't stack. Build Turbo up to four passive stacks before you fire Nimbi Burst, so you get 30% instead of 15%. If your team is Fire, Spark Elf is where stacking actually pays, up to a 70% Fire bonus.
