How Bloom Events and Special Spawns Work in Aniimo

Filling a region's Prismana energy bar guarantees a spawn, and a Wonder Egg always hatches alpha or sparkling. Where each rare variant actually comes from.

The short version

  1. Completely filling a region's Prismana energy bar guarantees a Prismana Aniimo spawn in that area, so it is a target rather than a lottery.
  2. The game notifies you when a Prismana Aniimo appears and gives you its map coordinates.
  3. Prismana variants are regional or alternate forms with their own markings, not the same thing as a sparkling variant.
  4. A Wonder Egg is guaranteed to hatch an Aniimo with at least an alpha mutation or a sparkling mutation, while a Sparkling Egg only guarantees the sparkling part.
  5. Umbral and Radiant variants spawn during bloom events, and also at a low rate anywhere in the open world.

Rare Aniimo do not all come from the same place. Some are a reward for filling a bar, some appear during bloom events, some hatch out of an egg you earned from a task, and a few just turn up in the open world while you were doing something else.

This page sorts them out. Prismana first, because that is the one with an actual trigger you control, then the Umbral and Radiant variants that show up during bloom events, then what the various eggs do and do not promise you.

Most of it is systems, not luck. The luck part is smaller than it looks once you know which system feeds which variant.

Wonder Egg or Sparkling Egg

Wonder Egg

  • Awarded for completing the Who's That Aniimo event.
  • Carries shiny and alpha potential.
  • Guaranteed to hatch an Aniimo with at least an alpha mutation or a sparkling mutation.

Sparkling Egg

  • Rewarded by in-game events and tasks.
  • Guarantees the hatched Aniimo will be sparkling.
  • No guarantee of elite rarity or potential.

Filling the Prismana energy bar

Every region has a Prismana energy bar. Fill it completely and a Prismana Aniimo is guaranteed to spawn in that area. That is the whole mechanic, and it is why Prismana hunting feels different from waiting on a rare spawn: you are working towards a guarantee, not rolling a dice.

You do not have to watch the map afterwards. The game sends a notification when a Prismana Aniimo appears, and it includes the creature's map coordinates. Read it, travel, catch.

Energy also comes in from catching. Triggering a Lucky Strike while you catch has a 0.6% chance to increase Prismana energy. That is not a plan on its own. It is a trickle that rewards catching a lot of things you were going to catch anyway, which is an argument for filling the bar while you do your normal clearing rather than making a separate trip for it.

Two spawns are worth knowing by name. Prismana Magmarex spawns outdoors on the Zephyrus Land Bridge rather than inside the cave, which is the mistake most people make first. Prismana Stellarys spawns in the Forest of Falling Stars, at its flower teleporter.

0.6%

Lucky Strike chance to raise Prismana energy

Each Lucky Strike you trigger while catching has this chance to push the region's bar higher, and a completely filled bar guarantees a Prismana spawn there.

Unlocking the Prismana Pact

The Prismana Pact selection is gated, and the gate has three parts. You need level 40, Chapter 3 completed, and Wayfarer rank 1. Missing any one of them means the selection is not available to you yet, so if you are chasing a specific Prismana form early, check which of the three is actually behind you.

Catching is not the only route. An in-game nurture system lets you obtain Prismana forms during later progression, which matters if the form you want is not one you can reliably find in the field.

One point of confusion worth clearing up: a Prismana is not a shiny. Prismana variants are distinct regional or alternate forms, and their markings differ from those of sparkling variants. They are separate collection targets, and having one does not give you the other.

Umbral and Radiant variants during bloom events

Aniimo has dark Umbral variants, and they are easy to recognise. Umbral Aniimo carry unique coloration and a misty, cloud-like Darkler appearance, so you will know one on sight rather than having to check a menu.

Umbral and Radiant variants spawn during bloom events. They also spawn naturally at a low rate across the open world, which means bloom events concentrate something that is already out there rather than being the only way to see one. If you are not in an event window, you are not locked out. You are just on the slow path.

Wild surges are the third route. You activate them through ecosystem nurturing, and a surge has a chance to spawn rare Umbra Aniimo. That makes nurturing worth keeping up with even when you are not actively hunting, because the surges it enables are what turn a quiet region into a place where rare things happen.

Wonder Eggs, Sparkle eggs and what they guarantee

Completing the Who's That Aniimo event awards a Wonder Egg with shiny and alpha potential. The guarantee attached to it is the strong one: a Wonder Egg is guaranteed to hatch an Aniimo with at least an alpha mutation or a sparkling mutation. You are not hoping for a mutation. You are finding out which one you got.

Sparkling Eggs are narrower. They guarantee the hatched Aniimo will be sparkling, and that is all they guarantee. Elite rarity is not included, and neither is potential. A sparkling creature with poor potential is a normal outcome from a Sparkling Egg, so treat the sparkle as the prize and anything else as a bonus.

Eggs come from in-game events and tasks, Sparkle eggs among them, and free in-game and special events can reward unique, time-limited Aniimo variants. Hatching event eggs can produce duplicate drops as well as shiny variants, so a run of repeats is the system working normally rather than a sign you are doing something wrong.

What you are actually collecting

Catching one of each species is the floor, not the goal. Beyond a single copy, collection in Aniimo means hunting for better Potential, different traits, Sparkling versions, different regional or alternate forms, and Prismana forms. The same creature can be a target several times over.

The variant list is wider than the event ones too. Aniimo can naturally feature alternative color variations out in the open world, and the distinct variations include regional forms, sparkling variants, Prismana forms and Umbral variants. That is why a habit of looking properly at what you walk past pays off more here than in most catching games.

There is a small reward for the looking. Finding a rare variant lets you replace the default Aniilog background with a photo of the variant, which is the one piece of your profile that says what you have actually found rather than what you have merely filled in.

If you took part in the closed beta, the creatures you sealed carry over intact. Sealed beta creatures retain their original appearance, stats, skills and sparkling status when hatched at launch, so a sparkling you sealed back then is still a sparkling now.

Where to start

Fill a region's Prismana energy bar and let the notification do the rest. Keep ecosystem nurturing going so wild surges keep firing, save your Wonder Egg for when you can pay attention to the hatch, and look twice at anything whose colours seem off.
