How Wonder Eggs Work in Aniimo

Every Wonder Egg hatches an Alpha or Sparkling Aniimo, and Alpha is the likelier result. Here is where the egg comes from and why an Alpha is not automatically a keeper.

The short version

  1. You get a Wonder Egg by completing the Who's That Aniimo event, and it carries both shiny and alpha potential.
  2. A Wonder Egg always hatches an Aniimo with at least an alpha mutation or a sparkling mutation, and Alpha is the most common outcome.
  3. Alpha status does not mean higher base stats or high Potential. Potential is rolled when the Aniimo is caught, so an Alpha can land above or below its species' standard.
  4. Auto-release and batch release both protect Alpha Aniimo, so a bulk cleanup of your storage will not throw one away.
  5. Filter the storage box by Potential grade and by rarity (Alpha, Prismana) to find the hatches actually worth keeping.

A Wonder Egg is the closest thing Aniimo has to a guaranteed rare. The collectible creatures are called Aniimo, most of them are ordinary, and this egg skips the ordinary ones entirely: whatever comes out has a mutation.

That makes the Wonder Egg (the thing people search for as the "alpha egg") easy to overvalue. The mutation is guaranteed. Good stats are not. This guide covers where to get the egg, what it can hatch, and how to sort the result in storage without losing anything you meant to keep.

How to get a Wonder Egg

Completing the Who's That Aniimo event awards a Wonder Egg. The game describes it as an egg with shiny and alpha potential, and that is exactly what it delivers: a hatch drawn from the rare mutated end of the roster rather than the common one.

If you are choosing which event to finish first, this is the reason to prioritise Who's That Aniimo. The reward is not a random egg that might be good. It is an egg with a guaranteed floor.

What hatches from a Wonder Egg

A Wonder Egg is guaranteed to hatch an Aniimo with at least an alpha mutation or a sparkling mutation. In practice it hatches into either an Alpha or a Sparkling Aniimo, and Alpha is the most common outcome. Sparkling is the rarer of the two, so plan on an Alpha and treat a Sparkling hatch as the lucky result.

Those are two of the rare variant forms Aniimo can appear in. The full set also includes Prismana and Umbral variants, but a Wonder Egg's guarantee is about the alpha and sparkling mutations specifically.

What an Alpha hatch does and does not give you

This is where expectations need correcting. Being an Alpha does not grant higher base stats, and it does not guarantee high Potential. Potential is rolled when the Aniimo is caught, so an Alpha's stats can come in higher or lower than the base standard for its species. An Alpha with poor Potential is still an Alpha with poor Potential. The grades themselves (Common, Good, Elite and Perfect) have their own guide on this site.

Alphas do carry real perks elsewhere in the game. Alpha Aniimo caught in the overworld come with their Core Skills already upgraded and keep them without needing contracted Held Items. Catching and reporting Alpha Aniimo is also how you earn Mutation Marks. Both of those are tied to overworld catching, so the Wonder Egg is one route to an Alpha rather than a replacement for hunting them.

Managing Alphas and traits in storage

Once hatches start piling up, storage is where mistakes happen. The good news: auto-releasing and batch releasing both protect Alpha Aniimo from being released, so a bulk cleanup will not quietly delete one.

That protection covers Alpha status and nothing else, so check each Aniimo yourself before you register or release it. Look at three things: whether it is an Alpha, whether it has any special or weather form, and its Potential grade. The storage box helps here. You can filter it by Potential grade (Common, Good, Elite or Perfect) and by rarity values including Alpha and Prismana, which lets you pull every high-grade Alpha into one view instead of scrolling for it.

If you land something exceptional, such as a Perfect Sparkling Alpha, the Prismana Orb is the tool that keeps it intact. Using one preserves an Aniimo's innate potentials, traits and personality, so those attributes carry through. The Prismana Pact guide covers how the orb and its rewards fit together.

Potential grades to check before releasing
  1. CommonLowest listed grade. Filterable in the storage box.
  2. GoodSecond grade. Filterable in the storage box.
  3. EliteThird grade. Filterable in the storage box.
  4. PerfectTop grade. A Prismana Orb keeps it on Perfect Sparkling Alphas.

Where to start

Finish Who's That Aniimo for the Wonder Egg, expect an Alpha, and judge it by its Potential grade rather than its mutation. Use the storage filters to sort hatches, lean on the Alpha protection during bulk releases, and save the Prismana Orb for a hatch that deserves it.
