How dual element weaknesses work in Aniimo

Prismana forms can hand an Aniimo a second element, and that second element can bring a weakness the base form never had.

The short version

  1. Aniimo's rare Prismana variant forms can gain a second element on top of the base element, making the creature dual-element.
  2. Prismana Fulmintis gains a weakness to Dark that the base Fulmintis form does not have.
  3. Fulmintis is an Electric Aniimo, and it gains the Light element in its Prismana form.
  4. Prismana Turbo is weak to Light.
  5. Prismana Magmarex is a dual Fire and Dark type.
  6. Standard Grizbo, also called Grizzbolt, is a Stone or Earth element Aniimo.

Most of what you need to know about elements in Aniimo you learn from the base forms. A creature has an element, you plan around it, and that holds.

Prismana forms break that habit. These rare variants can alter an Aniimo's elemental typing, occasionally giving it a second element on top of the one it already has, along with skills that are unlocked by owning the form. That system has its own article on this site. What matters here is the part players notice late: a second element is not only something you gain. It is also something an opponent can aim at.

The clearest case is Fulmintis, so start there.

The second element brings a new soft spot

Fulmintis is an Electric Aniimo. In its Prismana form it gains the Light element on top of that, which is the dual typing working exactly as advertised.

The cost arrives with it. Prismana Fulmintis is weak to Dark, and the base Fulmintis form is not. Nothing about the creature got worse in isolation. You simply now have a vulnerability on the board that did not exist before you shifted forms, and an opponent who knows that will use it.

This is the shape of the whole mechanic. Read a Prismana form as two changes, not one: what it adds to your side, and what it opens on your side.

Fulmintis is an Electric Aniimo. Its Prismana form gains the Light element, and with it a weakness to Dark that the base form does not have.

Aniimo elements start with the base form

You cannot judge what a form shift costs you unless you know where you started. Fulmintis is Electric. Standard Grizbo, which you will also see written as Grizzbolt, is a Stone or Earth element Aniimo. Which of those two names is the correct one for that element is not settled, so expect to see both.

Learn the base typing first and treat the Prismana typing as a separate thing you look up on its own. They are not the same entry, and assuming the form inherits the base profile unchanged is how the Dark weakness on Prismana Fulmintis catches people.

Fulmintis before and after the Prismana form

Fulmintis (base form)

  • An Electric element Aniimo.
  • Single element typing.
  • No weakness to Dark.

Prismana Fulmintis

  • Gains the Light element on top of Electric.
  • Dual element, which is what Prismana forms can do.
  • Gains a weakness to Dark.

Three Prismana forms and what they carry

The known picture is small but specific. Prismana Fulmintis carries Light as its added element and a weakness to Dark. Prismana Turbo is weak to Light. Prismana Magmarex is a dual Fire and Dark type.

Notice that the same element names appear on both sides of that list. Light is a typing on one Prismana form and a weakness on another. Dark is a weakness on one and half a typing on another. An element in Aniimo is not a good thing or a bad thing to have near you. It depends entirely on which creature is holding it.

The skills are part of the trade

A Prismana form can give an Aniimo a different element from its basic form, along with skills that are unlocked by owning that form. That is the upside, and it is a real one. The dual typing that occasionally comes with it is upside too, right up until the defensive side of it matters.

So treat the decision as a trade rather than an upgrade. You are exchanging a known defensive profile for a new element, a new set of skills, and whatever vulnerability rides along. For Fulmintis that vulnerability is Dark and you can plan for it. For a form nobody has pinned down yet, assume the same pattern applies and check before you take it into a fight you care about.

Where to start

Check the Prismana form's typing before you commit to it. The extra element and the skills that come with it are real gains, but the defensive profile you end up with is not the one you started with, and Prismana Fulmintis is the clearest proof.
