Celestis and Stellarys: Spawns, Evolution and Kit
Celestis evolves at level 18, but only after you beat the level 18 Alpha Stellarys south of the Forest of Falling Stars. That fight also pays the Night Stone.
The short version
- Celestis evolves into Stellarys at Aniimo level 18, but only once you have defeated an Alpha Stellarys, and the evolution spends a Night Stone.
- Alpha Stellarys is a level 18 Dark-type marked on the map, in a field south of the Forest of Falling Stars. Beating it drops Night Stones.
- Defeat Alpha Stellarys first and then throw an Aniipod Ultra: the capture is a guaranteed 100%. Other Aniipods can work, but not reliably.
- Celestis can fly and climb, and it is a ranged Dark magic damage dealer, so it earns its place before it ever evolves.
- Stellarys is a ranged Dark main DPS. Its shadow clone mirrors its basic attacks and its ultimate, and Shooting Stars fires homing stars that stack a damage boost.
Celestis is one of the first Aniimo you meet, and you can have it early in the game. It also goes by Celestice, and its evolved form Stellarys is sometimes spelled Stellarys. Same line, same creature.
The Celestis evolution is not just a level check. You need the level, a win over an Alpha Stellarys and a Night Stone, and the Alpha fight supplies the last two. This page covers where that Alpha sits, how to catch it, and what Celestis and Stellarys actually do once you have them.
Celestis evolution: level 18, an Alpha and a Night Stone
Aniimo species do not all evolve the same way. Some have three distinct stages, some have two, and some never evolve at all. The first and lowest tier is the Lumen, or Luminous, stage: the baby form.
Celestis is the Lumin-stage form of its line. It evolves into its Nova-stage form, Stellarys, once three conditions are met. Celestis has to reach Aniimo level 18. You have to have defeated an Alpha Stellarys, which is what unlocks the evolution. And the evolution spends a Night Stone.
The neat part is that one fight covers two of those. Defeating the Alpha Stellarys unlocks the evolution and drops Night Stones, so the Alpha is the real gate, not the level.

Where to find Alpha Stellarys
Alpha Stellarys is a level 18 Dark-type found in the wild, in a field south of the Forest of Falling Stars. It is shown on the map, so you are not hunting blind.
Stellarys in general lives in the Forest of Falling Stars and can appear there as an Alpha. You have three routes to owning one: evolve a Celestis, capture the Alpha south of the forest, or nurture a branch. Advancing through Celestis is the early route, and catching that Alpha is the other way to get Stellarys early.
Note that the Alpha's level matches the evolution level. If your Celestis is ready to evolve, it is roughly in the right range for the fight.
Catching Alpha Stellarys
Bosses like Stellarys can be caught, and captured area bosses come out Alpha-sized. You can catch an Alpha Stellarys with an Aniipod other than the Aniipod Ultra, but not reliably. The dependable method is to defeat it first and then throw an Aniipod Ultra, which secures a guaranteed 100% capture.
The Ultra also sets a floor on what you get, though exactly what that floor is is not settled. It is described both as at least Elite-rated potential and as at least Epic quality. Either way, the Ultra is the ball for this fight. Alpha hunting as a whole has its own guide on this site; for Stellarys, beat it, then throw the Ultra.

Celestis in the field: flying, climbing and ranged Dark damage
Celestis is useful well before it evolves. It can fly and it can climb, which makes it a traversal pick as much as a fighter.
In combat, Celestis is a ranged, Dark-element magic damage dealer. That carries straight through the evolution: you are not trading one role for another when it becomes Stellarys, just getting a stronger version of the same job.
Stellarys's kit: Shooting Stars and the shadow clone
Stellarys is a ranged attacker and a strong ranged damage dealer, built for the main DPS role. Its element is Dark. Whether it also carries Ice is not settled: standard Stellarys appears as a Dark-type, while Ice is also described as an addition its Prismana variant brings to the base Dark element. Prismana Stellarys (Aniilog No.006) deals Dark damage, and whether it is dual Dark and Ice or pure Dark is likewise unsettled. Its full typing has its own article on this site.
The shadow clone is the skill that defines the kit. It summons a clone that mirrors Stellarys's attacks, basic attacks and ultimate included, so you get extra attacks in every exchange.
Shooting Stars is the other half. On Alpha Stellarys it fires five homing stars and grants a damage boost that scales up to 20%. On Prismana Stellarys it is the base core Magic skill, and the star count is not settled: three without a contract and five when contracted or enhanced, or five, or six, depending on which build you are looking at. What is consistent is the payoff. Each star that damages a target gives you a 1% Damage Boost, stacking up to 15 times for a maximum of 15%. A bonded Stellarys fires 10 stars while the Shadow Magic clone is active, which is why the clone and Shooting Stars are worth lining up together.
Where to start
Take Celestis early and use it to fly and climb. Get it to level 18, then go to the field south of the Forest of Falling Stars and beat the Alpha Stellarys. That unlocks the evolution and gives you the Night Stone it costs. If you want the Alpha too, defeat it first and finish with an Aniipod Ultra.
