How to increase innate potential in Aniimo

Innate potential is fixed at capture, but not locked. Events can raise it up to four times, dispatches and gifts add points, and one fruit per Aniimo can lift Elite to Perfect.

The short version

  1. Innate potential is the fixed set of starting points an Aniimo has from capture or birth, and it only rises through specific sources such as events, dispatches, gifts and fruits.
  2. Adventure events such as the Cross Tea Party can raise an Aniimo's innate or Initial Potential, up to four times.
  3. Putting an Aniimo in the leader slot of a dispatch loadout, or having it lead your party when you claim a Chance Encounter Gift, can give it +1 to a random potential stat.
  4. Each Aniimo can eat only one Capability Fruit (Kappa Fruit) in its lifetime, and only Elite Aniimo with an animated, sparkling potential aura on their head icon can be raised to Perfect with one.
  5. Kappa and Keeper fruit effects carry over automatically when an Aniimo passes on its traits through inheritance, so a fruit is not lost when you breed.

Every Aniimo arrives with innate potential: a fixed set of starting points it has from the moment you catch it or it hatches. It works like individual values in other creature games, and it is the reason two Aniimo of the same species, even two Perfect ones, can have different stat spreads, potential ratings and traits.

Fixed does not mean final. A handful of sources raise innate potential permanently: certain adventure events, the leader slot in a dispatch, the Chance Encounter Gift, and fruit. This guide covers each one, what it costs you, and where the limits are.

Why innate potential is worth raising

Potential in Aniimo comes in two parts. Innate potential is rolled when you capture the Aniimo. Acquired potential is the part you improve as you play. The innate half is the one people assume is locked, and it is the one that quietly shapes everything after it.

The reason is cost. Innate potential scales an Aniimo's enhancement costs, and a higher starting value lowers the total Astranite you need to max out a stat. A point of innate potential is not just a point on the stat screen. It is Astranite you do not have to spend later.

The ceiling is 10. The highest value an Aniimo can roll naturally is 9, so a 10 only exists because something raised it after the roll. The rest of this guide is about those somethings.

10

Highest innate potential value

Only 9 can be rolled naturally, so reaching the cap means raising potential after capture.

Adventure events: the biggest repeatable source

Certain adventure events can raise an Aniimo's innate or Initial Potential directly. The Cross Tea Party is one of them. Each Aniimo can benefit this way up to four times, which makes events the most generous source on this list.

That cap is per Aniimo, so it pays to think about which creature you bring. Spending event boosts on something you plan to replace wastes them. Put them on the Aniimo you intend to keep building.

Four times

Event potential raises per Aniimo

Adventure events such as the Cross Tea Party can raise innate potential up to four times, more than any other single source here.

Dispatches and the Chance Encounter Gift

Two smaller sources both reward whoever is standing at the front.

When you send out a dispatch, the leader Aniimo in the loadout can gain +1 to a random potential stat from the investigation. The Chance Encounter Gift works the same way on your party: it grants +1 to a random potential stat, and it goes to the party leader.

The practical habit is simple. Before you start a dispatch or claim a gift, check who is leading and swap in the Aniimo you want to improve. The stat is random, so you cannot aim these points, but you can choose who gets them. Both are covered in more depth in the bonus potential stats guide.

Capability Fruit: one per Aniimo, so choose carefully

The Capability Fruit, also called Kappa Fruit, changes an Aniimo's innate stats. The hard rule is that each Aniimo can eat only one in its whole lifetime. There is no second fruit to fix a bad choice.

Its exact effect is not settled yet. It may raise each of the six innate potential attributes by one point. It may unlock an innate potential. It may add one point to each of the Aniimo's two recommended innate potential stats, up to a maximum of nine. What is consistent is that the fruit also upgrades lower rarity tiers when applied to them.

That tier upgrade is the most useful thing it does. An Elite Aniimo can be raised to Perfect with a Capability Fruit, which grants plus one Initial Potential in its recommended stat. The catch is eligibility: only Elite Aniimo whose head icon shows an animated, sparkling potential aura can be upgraded this way. Not every Elite qualifies, so look for the aura before you commit your one fruit.

Fruit effects survive inheritance

Kappa and Keeper fruit effects transfer automatically across generations during inheritance. You do not have to redo the work on the next generation, and feeding a fruit to an Aniimo you plan to breed from is not a dead end.

This changes how you should think about the one fruit limit. The fruit is spent on a single Aniimo, but its effect carries forward down the line. A well chosen fruit on a breeding parent keeps paying off after that parent stops being your main pick.

Where to start

Put your keeper Aniimo in the leader slot for dispatches and gifts, and bring it to adventure events like the Cross Tea Party until it has used all four boosts. Save its one Capability Fruit for an Elite with the sparkling aura, or for a breeding parent, since the effect carries down through inheritance.
