How to get bonus potential stats in Aniimo

Past the potential cap of 20, and where each extra point comes from: level 60 ascension, dispatch leaders, the Chance Encounter Gift, event rolls, Capability Fruit and the right pod.

The short version

  1. Ascension opens at level 60, and Phenomena Crystals used there grant six additional potential stats.
  2. The Resident Star Up tab lets stats pass the standard potential cap of 20, with favorable stats reaching a maximum potential of 24.
  3. Your dispatch leader and your party leader can each pick up +1 random potential stat, from the investigation and the Chance Encounter Gift respectively, so choose who leads with that in mind.
  4. Each Aniimo can eat only one Capability Fruit in its lifetime, and only elite Aniimo with an animated, sparkling potential aura on their head icon can be raised to Perfect with one.
  5. Ultra Pods and Ultra Cubes add nothing on Alpha Aniimo, Umbral eggs, or eggs that already guarantee Elite rarity or Perfect potential; a basic Anicube hatches those just as well.

Potential is the number that decides how strong an Aniimo can get, and the standard cap is 20 per stat. That sounds like a ceiling. It isn't. Several systems push past it, and a few small bonuses add single points that are easy to miss if you don't know where to look.

This guide sorts those sources by when you meet them: the big jumps after level 60, the free +1 rolls from leading a team, Capability Fruit, and the pods and eggs that decide what potential a creature starts with. If you searched for Aniimo perfect stats, the last two sections are where most of your answer lives.

Going past the cap of 20 after level 60

An Aniimo can be ascended after capture once it reaches level 60. Ascension itself has its own guide on this site; what matters here is what you feed it. Phenomena Crystals increase an Aniimo's overall strength on ascension by granting six additional potential stats. That is the single largest chunk of bonus potential in this list, which is why levelling a keeper to 60 is worth doing early.

The cap itself moves too. Through the Resident Star Up tab, an Aniimo's stats can surpass the standard potential cap of 20, and favorable stats can reach a maximum potential of 24. If you have been treating 20 as the finish line, it is not.

The Resonance Star-Up system is related but separate. It raises an Aniimo's total power and grants a flat attribute bonus when maxed out. Held items work on the same principle from the other side. The equipment slot, called carried items during the beta, grants stat bonuses on top of the baseline that potential gives you, so an Aniimo's effective stats end up higher than the 20 point per-stat ceiling alone allows.

Free +1 rolls from leading the team

Some bonus potential costs nothing but a moment of planning. The leader Aniimo in your dispatch loadout can gain +1 random potential stat from the investigation. The Chance Encounter Gift does the same for your party leader: +1 random potential stat.

The lesson is simple. Whoever sits in the lead slot is the one that benefits, so put the Aniimo you are actually building there rather than whatever you caught last. A random stat is still a stat, and on a creature you plan to keep it is never wasted.

Adventure events add more. Taking part in certain events, such as the Cross Tea Party, can raise an Aniimo's innate or Initial Potential, up to four times. That limit makes events worth spending on one favoured creature instead of spreading them around.

Capability Fruit and the jump to Perfect

Capability Fruit, also called Kappa Fruit, is covered in depth in its own guide, so here is only what bears on bonus potential. An individual Aniimo can consume only one in its lifetime, and the fruit changes its innate stats. Pick the recipient carefully, because there is no second attempt.

Exactly what the fruit does is not settled. It may permanently raise each of an Aniimo's six innate potential attributes by one point. It may unlock an innate potential. Or it may add one point to each of the Aniimo's two recommended innate potential stats, up to a maximum of nine. It is also tied to upgrading lower rarity tiers.

The rarity part is the clearest. An Aniimo's rarity tier can be upgraded, so an Elite Aniimo can be raised to Perfect with a Capability Fruit that grants plus one Initial Potential in its recommended stat. The catch is eligibility: only elite Aniimo whose head icon shows an animated, sparkling potential aura can be upgraded to Perfect this way. Not every elite qualifies, so check the icon before you spend the fruit.

During the beta, twenty Potential (Kappa) Seeds could be exchanged for one Capability (Kappa) Fruit in the exchange shop.

Each Aniimo can consume only one Capability Fruit ever, so save it for an eligible elite with the sparkling potential aura.

Pods, eggs and starting potential

The cheapest bonus potential is the kind a creature is born with. An Annipod Ultra guarantees capture of a wild creature and ensures at least Elite potential. The exact floor for everything caught or hatched with an Ultra Anipod is not settled, though. It may be a guaranteed minimum of Epic potential, a guaranteed minimum of Elite acquired potential, or only a chance at Elite. Catch rates and throws have their own guide; this is just the potential side.

Know when not to spend one. Using an Ultra Pod or Ultra Cube on Alpha Aniimo, Umbral eggs, or eggs that already guarantee Elite rarity or Perfect potential provides no additional benefit. Eggs that guarantee perfect class or potential do not need a high-tier pod at all, since a basic Anicube still hatches a perfect creature. Save the good pods for the creatures that need them.

Incredible Eggs, such as those found in Beast Fang Ridge, guarantee a hatched Aniimo with Elite potential or higher. That makes them a reliable way to start a build above the floor without any pod spending.

The Sparkling Cube and Alpha stats

The Sparkling Cube goes by several names: Sparkling Pod, Twinkle Cube, Shiny Cube. Its catch rate is a guaranteed 100%, so throwing one at a spawned Prismana always captures it. It also matters after the catch. Using a sparkling cube on an Aniimo that already has perfect stats grants additional potential, which makes it one of the few ways to add to a creature that has nothing left to gain elsewhere.

Whether it guarantees a sparkling (shiny, dazzling) Aniimo is not settled. At its strongest, it forces the Sparkling variant with sparkling Prismana quality on anything caught or hatched with it, including during egg incubation, with high potential and perfect rarity, and turns an Alpha, even one hatched from an Alpha egg, into a Perfect Sparkling Alpha. At its weakest, it only makes a shiny easier to capture or gives a chance of hatching one.

The same goes for stats. Whether it always delivers Perfect potential and perfect stats is not settled in the current build, and the result may land at Elite instead. If you are chasing Alpha stats specifically, treat the cube as a strong tool rather than a certain one, and remember that an Ultra Pod does nothing extra on an Alpha.

Where to start

Get your keeper to level 60 and ascend it with Phenomena Crystals. Keep it in the dispatch and party lead slots so the +1 rolls land on it, and spend event rolls on it too. Check its head icon for the sparkling aura before you feed it its one Capability Fruit. Don't spend Ultra Pods on Alphas or on eggs that already guarantee Elite or Perfect.
