Inferlupa combat: break skills, typing and dark team
Inferlupa's flame skill bounces between enemies five times and stacks break for 20 seconds. Here is how that kit carries break in a Pawney dark team.
The short version
- Inferlupa is a dual Fire and Dark Aniimo with the Break combat role and a Break stat of 108. It ranks among the best breakers in the game.
- Its first flame skill ricochets between enemies five times, so one cast spreads break pressure across a group instead of one target.
- Flameruff Spirit applies break stacks that last 20 seconds and raise break by up to 30%.
- Unbroken Flameruff Spirit gets more break out of those repeated ricochets, and the Full Energy mechanic adds clone pressure.
- In the recommended dark team, Pawney deals the damage, Inferlupa breaks, Turbo supports and Glacy heals.
If you are asking what break is in Aniimo, the short answer is that it is damage aimed at an enemy's break bar rather than its health. Inferlupa is built for that job. It has the Break combat role, it specialises in break damage that empties enemy break bars, and it is one of the best breakers you can field.
This page covers Inferlupa in combat: its typing, how its ricochet flame skills build break, and where it sits in a dark team. Unlocking it and its evolution quest are covered in their own guide.
Inferlupa's typing and break role

Inferlupa is a dual Fire and Dark element Aniimo. The Dark half is why it shows up in dark teams; the Fire half is where its skills come from, since the kit is built around flame.
Its Break stat is 108. Its role is the Break role, which means your goal with it is not to top the damage chart. Your goal is to drain enemy break bars so the rest of the team can cash in. That is the role it fills in any team it joins, and it fills it better than most.

How the ricochet break skills work

Everything in the kit turns on ricochets. Inferlupa's first flame skill bounces between enemies five times. Against a group, that spreads break across several targets from a single cast. Against fewer enemies, the bounces still have to land somewhere, so the pressure concentrates.
Flameruff Spirit is the flame skill that does the stacking. It applies break stacks to the enemy that last 20 seconds and increase break by up to 30%. Twenty seconds is long enough that you do not need to recast it constantly, but you do want to keep it running while your damage dealer is working.
Unbroken Flameruff Spirit is the upgrade path for that idea. It improves break efficiency through repeated ricochets, so the more the flame bounces, the more value you get from it.
Two more pieces round out the kit. The Full Energy mechanic gives Inferlupa increased clone pressure, and Inferlupa can also learn the Hunting Pack skill.

Inferlupa in a dark team

The recommended dark team gives each member one clear job. Pawney is the main DPS. Inferlupa handles break. Turbo plays support and Glacy is the healer.
The logic is simple. Inferlupa's ricochets and 20 second break stacks soften enemies up, and Pawney does the damage once the break bars are low. Turbo and Glacy keep that loop going for longer.
Dark is not the only home for it. Inferlupa also takes the breaker slot in Irisalis teams, so building it is not a commitment to a single lineup.
Where to start
If you are running dark, Inferlupa goes in the breaker slot next to Pawney. Keep Flameruff Spirit's stacks up, let the ricochets spread break across the group, and leave the damage to Pawney.
