Resonance Star-Up and Dewdrop Crystals
Dewdrop Crystals are the currency behind every permanent stat gain your Aniimo will ever get. Here is what they buy, where they drop, and why you should think before you spend them.

Most of the power on an Aniimo does not come from levelling it. It comes from Resonance Star-Up, a system that spends Dewdrop Crystals to raise base stats like Attack and HP, and that gates how far the creature can level at all.
That makes Dewdrop Crystals the thing you are actually farming, whatever else you think you are doing. They are required for resonance upgrades, and resonance upgrades are what ascend an Aniimo past specific level caps. A creature stuck at a wall is usually a creature short on crystals, not short on experience.
The system pays out in three ways at once: bigger base stats, a higher ceiling, and more room to build. Capability slots and caps unlock progressively as resonant star rank climbs, so a higher star rank is not only a stronger creature but a more flexible one.
Crystals come from the line, not the creature
Defeating wild Aniimo drops Dewdrop Crystals specific to that creature's evolutionary line. Emberpup Dewdrop Crystals, for example, come from defeating Emberpup, Flameruff or Scorchhowl.
That detail is worth internalising early, because it decides your route. You are not farming a generic resource that any fight contributes to. You are farming one line's crystals, and only that line's members pay out. If you want to star up your Emberpup, every fight that is not against something in its line is a fight that does nothing for it.
The upside is that the whole line counts. You do not have to hunt the specific evolutionary stage you are holding.
Fill the stage, then ascend
Filling every Resonance Star-Up in an Aniimo's current stage unlocks Ascension. Ascension is a separate spend: it takes elemental stones and other materials, advances the creature to the next stage, and grants attribute bonuses of its own.
So the loop runs crystals, then stones. Crystals get you through the stage. Stones and materials get you out of it. Neither substitutes for the other, and Ascension simply stays locked until the stage below it is complete.
There is a reward for finishing the job rather than stopping partway. Maxing out the Resonance Star-Up system provides a flat attribute bonus, paid on top of everything the individual upgrades already gave you.
Past the standard potential cap
Aniimo stats normally sit under a potential cap of 20. The Resident Star Up tab is how you get above it, reaching a maximum potential of 24 on favorable stats.
That is the difference between a finished creature and a genuinely optimised one, and it only applies where the stat is favorable. It is not a blanket raise across the sheet.

Nothing you spend comes back
Resonance star-up investments cannot be refunded. Once the crystals are in, they are in, and there is no reset that hands them back.
The one escape hatch is inheritance. Investments may be transferred to Aniimo within the same family, and stat inheritance, including Resident Star Up and Awaken Potentials, can only be performed between Aniimo of the same family. So a mistake inside a family is recoverable. A mistake across families is not.
The practical rule follows from that. Before you commit a large pile of crystals, be confident the creature is in the family you intend to keep investing in. Being wrong about the individual is cheap. Being wrong about the family is not.
Where to start
Pick a line, farm it, and finish what you start. Crystals only come from the line you are upgrading, the flat bonus only lands if you max the system, and the only way to move an investment is inheritance inside the same family.
