What the crown icon means on Aniimo stats
You don't catch a crown, because 9 is the highest stat a capture can roll. Here's where the crown limit sits, what pushes a stat past 9, and why 35 awakening points won't crown everything.
The short version
- A crown icon appears next to an Aniimo stat once that attribute's potential is fully maxed, so a fully built Aniimo can show several crowns.
- Innate potential caps at 10, which is crown status, but 9 is the highest value a capture can roll naturally, so a fresh catch never arrives crowned.
- Each standard attribute caps at a combined total of 20 between innate and acquired potential, and the star-up bonus raises the effective maximum to 21.
- An Aniimo counts as perfect when its inherent potential values are both 8, and a Capa (Kappa) fruit can push one of those stats from 8 to 9.
- Capability awakening points are capped at a total of 35, so you cannot crown every stat on one Aniimo and have to pick.
The small crown next to a stat on your Aniimo's sheet tells you one thing: that attribute is finished. Its potential has hit the maximum attribute limit and nothing else you do will raise it.
That's simple enough. The trouble starts when you ask where the limit actually is, because Aniimo stats have two layers of potential and each has its own ceiling. This page covers what the crown is measuring, how close a wild catch can get to it, what perfect stats mean, and why your awakening budget forces you to choose which stats get crowned.
What the crown icon is telling you
Every Aniimo has potential values for its stats, and those are split in two. Innate potential is rolled when you capture the creature. Acquired potential is what you add afterwards with items. The innate and acquired potential article covers both in full; here you only need to know there are two parts and they add together.
The crown appears once a stat's potential in that attribute is fully maxed and has reached the maximum attribute limit. It isn't a rarity marker and it isn't handed out at capture. It's a progress marker. A fully built Aniimo can show crown icons on its stats, and one still in progress can't.
Where the crown limit sits
On the innate side, potential caps at 10, and a value of 10 is crown status. The catch is that 9 is the highest value that can be rolled naturally. The maximum innate potential an Aniimo can start with is listed as 10, but no capture rolls a crown on its own. Getting that last point takes work after the catch.
On the combined side, each standard attribute caps at a total of 20 between innate and acquired potential. Acquired potential is the part gained after capture through items, listed as ranging from 10 to 20. A stat reaches its maximum crown level at 20 points of combined innate potential and capability awakening, and the star-up bonus raises the effective maximum to 21.
Be warned that the true ceiling is not settled. One version of the stat display uses a scale from 1 to 10 with the crown marking the top. Another treats 20 as the standard cap and lets favorable stats go as high as 24 through the Resident Star Up tab. These can't all be the final word, so treat any single number as build-dependent until your own stat screen confirms it. Potential values have also been converted between versions; the exact conversion rules and compensation amounts are published in the version update announcement and in-game mail, so check those if your numbers changed.
Aniimo perfect stats and the push past 8
An Aniimo counts as perfect when its inherent potential values are both 8. That's the bar most players mean when they talk about perfect stats, and you'll notice it sits below both the natural roll limit of 9 and the crown at 10. Perfect isn't maxed.
This is where a Capa (Kappa) fruit comes in. It permanently raises an Aniimo's innate potential by one, and it works on a Perfect Aniimo too, taking a stat from 8 to 9. The capability fruits article covers how to get them and use them. For crown purposes, what matters is that fruit is how an innate stat climbs past what it rolled.
- 8An Aniimo counts as perfect when both inherent potential values are 8.
- 9The highest innate value that can be rolled naturally. A Capa fruit can push a Perfect Aniimo from 8 to 9.
- 10The innate potential cap. Reaching it achieves crown status.
Why you can't crown every stat
Capability awakening points are capped at a total of 35, and because a stat's crown level is reached through innate potential plus awakening, that budget runs out before every stat can be maxed. The capability awakening article explains how points are earned and spent.
In practice this means a crown is a decision, not a reward for grinding. Work out which stats your Aniimo actually depends on and spend awakening there. Spreading points evenly leaves you with a creature that has no crowns at all and no single stat at its best.

Where to start
Treat the crown as a marker that a stat is finished. Catch for perfect stats, use Capa fruit to push innate past what the Aniimo rolled, and spend your capped awakening points on the stats that matter most rather than trying to crown them all. If your numbers look different from the ones here, check your own stat screen and the latest update announcement, because the exact ceiling is not settled.
