Should you save Glimmer? Endgame income and best uses

Free Glimmer dries up around level 58 to 60. Here is what still pays it out once that happens, and why nurturing fruit should come before cosmetics.

The short version

  1. Free Glimmer income falls off sharply around level 58 to 60, once the one-time sources are used up, so spending it freely early leaves you short in the endgame.
  2. Daily tasks and events are the most efficient Glimmer sources, and they are what keeps paying once story and milestone rewards are gone.
  3. Daily activity rewards include 30 Glimmer along with Anipods, so skipping dailies costs you more in the endgame than it did early on.
  4. Glimmer pays for nurturing items such as Kappa and Psyche fruits, which usually matter more than cosmetic draws.
  5. Don't buy Capability Fruit for 1,000 Glimmer when you can get it free through regular play, including by exchanging 20 Potential Seeds.

Glimmer is the gem currency in Aniimo. You can earn all of it without paying, and you spend it in the Glimmer tab of the premium shop without touching real money. Early on it comes in quickly enough that spending it feels free.

That doesn't last. Most of your early Glimmer comes from sources that pay out once, and when they run out, your income drops hard. This guide covers when that happens, what still pays afterwards, and which purchases are worth your saved Glimmer.

Why Glimmer runs short after level 58 to 60

Free Glimmer income falls sharply as you progress, and the drop shows most clearly around level 58 to 60. By then you have used up the one-time sources: story progress, milestones, first clears and similar rewards that never repeat.

After that, Glimmer is scarce. What you spent in the early hours is gone, and the replacement income is a trickle compared with what the story was handing you. So the habit to build early is to save Glimmer, not spend it on reflex. It has uses that can matter more to you later than anything cosmetic you could buy with it now.

Where endgame Glimmer still comes from

The full list of free Glimmer sources is long: story progress, quests and missions, daily tasks, events, challenges, milestones, elite training, boss battles, chests, puzzles, branch activities, the battle pass and the Holo Battle Simulator. Many of those dry up once you have finished them. The two that matter most are also the two that keep coming back. Daily tasks and events are the most efficient way to farm Glimmer.

Dailies are the steady part. Daily activity rewards include Anipods and 30 Glimmer. That is a small amount on any given day, but in the endgame it is one of the few sources that doesn't run out, so it is worth doing every day.

Events are the larger, irregular part. The limited-time Who's That Aniimo event, for example, included Glimmer among its rewards. When a limited event is running, treat its Glimmer as income you can't get back later, and clear it before it ends.

Daily tasks and events are the most efficient Glimmer sources, and daily activity rewards pay 30 Glimmer alongside Anipods.

What to spend Glimmer on

Glimmer's most useful job is nurturing. It pays for items such as Kappa and Psyche fruits, which build up the Aniimo you actually use. This is where saved Glimmer earns its keep, because nurturing keeps paying off in a way a one-off cosmetic does not.

Capability Fruit is the trap. It sits in the Glimmer Shop at 1,000 Glimmer, but you can also get it for free through regular gameplay, including by exchanging 20 Potential Seeds. Paying Glimmer for something the game already hands you is a poor trade when Glimmer is the scarcer resource. How Capability Fruit works is covered in its own guide; for the purposes of this one, the point is simply to get it the free way.

Capability Fruit can also be obtained free through regular gameplay, including by exchanging 20 Potential Seeds, so buying it with Glimmer is optional.

Why cosmetics come last

Cosmetic draws are where Glimmer disappears fastest and does the least for your team. Glimmer also doesn't go far on event cosmetics. Event customizations bought with Glimmer are limited to the first few options, such as color, wings and headwear, so even a full spend won't unlock a complete look.

That doesn't make cosmetics off limits. It means they come after nurturing, and ideally out of Glimmer you have left over once your endgame needs are covered, rather than out of the stockpile you built before level 58 to 60.

Where to start

Save your Glimmer. Do your dailies for the 30 Glimmer, clear every event that pays it, get Capability Fruit for free instead of buying it, and put Glimmer into nurturing fruit like Kappa and Psyche before you spend any on cosmetics.
