Egg types, guaranteed potential and mutations

Perfect Eggs and Umbral eggs lock in perfect potential, Incredible Eggs promise Elite or better, and a Sparkling Cube turns a Prismana egg into a perfect hatch.

The short version

  1. Perfect Eggs guarantee an Aniimo with perfect potential, and Umbral eggs hatch Umbral Aniimo that are also guaranteed perfect potential.
  2. Incredible Eggs, such as the ones in Beast Fang Ridge, guarantee Elite potential or higher, not perfect.
  3. Mysterious Prismana eggs always hatch a Prismana Aniimo, picked at random, and a sparkling item used on one makes the result perfect.
  4. The Sparkling Cube unlocks after you spend 2,500 stamps in the Stamp Exchange, and on a shop-bought Prismana egg it carries a tiny chance of Shadow Sparkling.
  5. Whether a plain Sparkling Egg guarantees the Sparkling mutation is not settled; the Departure Sparkling Egg and eggs labelled Super Dazzling do guarantee it.

Most eggs in Aniimo are a gamble on potential. A handful are not. Some egg types lock in a floor for the hatched Aniimo's potential, some lock in its form, and a few can be pushed further with a Sparkling Cube before they hatch.

This guide sorts the special eggs by what they actually promise: Perfect, Incredible, Umbral and Prismana eggs, plus the Sparkling eggs that sit alongside them. If you are deciding which eggs to chase and which ones to spend a cube on, this is the order to think about it in.

What each egg type guarantees

Perfect Eggs are the simplest. They guarantee that the hatched Aniimo has perfect potential. Certain other eggs carry the same promise, so the thing to look for is the guarantee rather than the name alone.

Umbral eggs hatch into Umbral Aniimo, and Umbral Aniimo are guaranteed to have perfect potential. You get the form and the ceiling together.

Incredible Eggs set a lower bar. An Aniimo from an Incredible Egg is guaranteed Elite potential or higher, which means perfect is possible but not promised. Beast Fang Ridge is one place they turn up.

Regular eggs, also called Normal eggs, promise nothing in particular. You find them hidden throughout the open world while exploring, in nests and field spawns, and they go into your inventory as items. Perfect-quality Aniimo can still come out of eggs that carry no guarantee, Prismana eggs included. It happens sometimes. Do not plan around it.

Reading an egg before you hatch it

You do not have to hatch blind. An egg shows its physical characteristics, elemental attributes and guaranteed properties in the interface, so a Perfect or Incredible guarantee is visible before you commit an incubator to it. The biome icon on an egg shows the pool of Aniimo that can hatch from it, which tells you what you are rolling for.

Nurturing is the other lever. You get one free nurture charge each day, and you can nurture up to three times in a row.

Aniimo Prismana eggs and the sparkle tier

Mysterious Prismana eggs, sometimes called Prismatic eggs, always hatch a Prismana Aniimo. Which one is chosen at random. Getting them is covered in our guide on how to get Prismana eggs; the short version is that Operation Egg Heist is the main supply.

Prismana Aniimo come in a sparkle tier of 13 variants: the basic Prismana form, ten common Sparkling Types numbered I to X, a Dazzling Sparkling and a Shadow Sparkling. The basic form is what a plain Prismana egg promises. Everything above it needs help.

That help is a sparkling item. Use one on a Prismana egg and the hatch is a perfect Prismana Aniimo. Use one on an alpha egg and the result is alpha, sparkling, perfect and Prismana all at once, which is about as stacked as a single hatch gets. If the Prismana egg was bought from the shop, hatching it with a Sparkling Cube also gives a tiny chance of the Shadow Sparkling mutation, the rarest step on the tier.

13

Prismana sparkle tier variants

The tier runs from the basic Prismana form through ten Sparkling Types I to X, plus a Dazzling Sparkling and a Shadow Sparkling variant.

Sparkling Cubes and Sparkling eggs

The Sparkling Cube, also called the Shiny Cube, is sold in the seasonal Stamp Shop. It unlocks after you spend 2,500 stamps on items in the Stamp Exchange. It yields Sparkling eggs, and you apply it to an egg before that egg hatches; once the egg has hatched, the chance has gone.

The plain Sparkling Egg is where things get murky. Whether it guarantees an Aniimo with the Sparkling mutation is not settled. It is described both as always hatching a sparkling or shiny Aniimo (with no promise of elite rarity or potential) and as carrying no sparkling guarantee at all. Eggs that definitely do guarantee it include the Departure Sparkling Egg and eggs with the Super Dazzling label. If certainty matters, go for those.

Trip eggs are a quieter route. They can inherit sparkling mutations and Prismana forms from the Aniimo you dispatched, so a good dispatch team can feed you mutations without a cube. Sparkling Aniimo also turn up in the wild, and eggs found in the wild can hatch them too.

One naming trap: a Mutation Mark is not an egg mutation. Binding a Mutation Mark or a legendary held item contract to an Aniimo enhances its core skill, in some cases adding a quick-time event.

2,500

Stamps spent to unlock the Sparkling Cube

The Sparkling Cube in the seasonal Stamp Shop only unlocks after you spend 2,500 stamps on items in the Stamp Exchange.

Egg Heist eggs and where they hatch

Operation Egg Heist hands out a broad selection of special eggs. Rare Prismana and Umbral eggs are extracted by competing teams and awarded on extraction, and there are three Prismana egg rewards to work toward while farming mysterious Prismana eggs. What hatches is usable regular, Umbral or Prismana Aniimo from any region, including fully evolved forms such as fully evolved Umbrals and forms you cannot get anywhere else in the game. Aniimo can hatch directly at the Nova evolutionary stage, so a heist egg can skip the early evolution grind entirely.

Eggs from Egg Heist go into hatchers or home incubators; the full process is in our Egg Incubation and Hatching guide. The one rule worth knowing here is the Hatchinator's center slot. It only takes special or orange-bordered legendary eggs and will not accept standard purple eggs, so keep it free for the eggs that need it.

Where to start

Hatch Perfect Eggs and Umbral eggs whenever you have them, because the perfect potential is guaranteed. Treat Incredible Eggs as a safe Elite floor. Save your Sparkling Cube for a Prismana egg, or better an alpha one. If you need the Sparkling mutation for certain, pick a Departure Sparkling Egg or a Super Dazzling egg over a plain Sparkling Egg.
