Sparkling Crystals, Phenomena Crystals and event tokens

Sparkling Crystals buy guaranteed shiny captures, Phenomena Crystals star up your best Aniimo, and Vein Essence caps limited Prismana. Here is where each comes from and what it buys.

The short version

  1. Sparkling Crystals buy Sparkling Cubes, which guarantee the capture of a shiny Prismana Aniimo, and Mass Surges let you farm them for as long as your Aniipods last.
  2. Phenomena Crystals raise the star level of high-tier Aniimo in training and are among the rarest resources in the game, so save them for the creatures you actually plan to keep.
  3. Egg Heist pays out its own currency for the Egg Heist Shop, you can sell extracted loot for eggshell coins after the match, and hatching Egg Heist eggs gives Prismana Shell Shards.
  4. Vein Essence is the real limit on how many limited-time Prismana Aniimo you can get, because each Bloom nurture past the free daily attempts costs one.
  5. Iris (Irisalis) Petals are spent in the Legendary Journey event shop, and each season's Prismana or legendary Aniimo is unlocked with petals.

Aniimo has a lot of currencies, and most of them only do one job. Resources you gather while playing get spent across several separate upgrade systems, and the rare ones are easy to waste if you do not know which system they belong to.

This guide covers the scarce and mode specific ones: Sparkling Crystals, Phenomena Crystals, the Egg Heist currency, petals, Vein Essence, and the upgrade tokens that sit around them. For each one you get where it comes from, what it buys, and the catch.

Sparkling Crystals and guaranteed shiny captures

Sparkling Crystals have one purpose that matters: they craft or buy Sparkling Cubes, and a Sparkling Cube guarantees the capture of a shiny Prismana Aniimo. If you want a specific shiny and do not want to gamble on it, this is the currency you are saving.

You get them three ways. Overworld chests drop them. Super lucky strikes while capturing wild Aniimo drop them. And Mass Surges hand them out, where you can keep farming them for as long as your Aniipods last. That last point is the useful one: a Mass Surge is the only source here limited by your own supply rather than by luck or by how many chests are left on the map.

You convert them at the Outpost Vendor. The exchange rates are not settled. One Sparkling Anipod appears at both 1,000 and 100 Sparkling Crystals, and one Sparkling Cube appears at 1,000, 100 and 5. Check the vendor in your own game before you plan a budget around any of those figures.

Phenomena Crystals for ascending high-tier Aniimo

Phenomena Crystals are spent in training to ascend high-tier Aniimo, meaning creatures at higher resonance stages or mind levels. Ascending raises their star level.

They are among the rarest and hardest-to-obtain resources in the game. That makes the advice simple: do not spend them on an Aniimo you are only trying out. Put them into the creatures you have already committed to, because you will not get many chances to correct a bad choice.

Aniimo Egg Heist coins, shell shards and the Egg Heist Shop

Egg Heist runs award an exclusive currency that you spend in the Egg Heist Shop on things like talent nodes. Its name is not settled yet. It appears as Eggshell Coins, shell shards, Prismana and Umbrals, so if you see any of those in an Egg Heist context, it is the shop currency.

There are two more ways the mode pays you. Loot you extract from an Egg Heist can be sold for eggshell coins after the match, so carrying something out is worth doing even when you have no use for the item itself. And hatching eggs from the Egg Heist, Umbral eggs included, yields Prismana Shell Shards.

Do not confuse any of this with badges. Badges are separate achievements recorded in the badge book, and they have no documented shop function. Polaris badges, for example, go to individuals who achieve major research breakthroughs. They mark what you have done; they do not buy anything.

Petals, Vein Essence and limited Prismana

Iris (Irisalis) Petals are the currency of the Legendary Journey event shop. Petals also tie into the seasonal rotation: each season features its own seasonal Aniimo, a Prismana or legendary Aniimo that you unlock with petals.

Vein Essence (also written Vane Essence) is spent to nurture Blooms. You get some free nurture attempts each day. Once those are used up, each further attempt normally costs one Vein Essence. Every nurture fills the nurture bar and draws large numbers of nearby Aniimo to that area, such as Prismana Aniimo at Breezy Plains branches.

That is why Vein Essence matters more than its plain description suggests. It is used to obtain limited-time Prismana Aniimo, and your supply of it is the main limit on how many of them you can get. Use the free daily attempts every day, and treat every paid attempt as one fewer chance at a limited Prismana later.

Stardust, Mark of the Strong, Lumen Amber and event attempts

Stardust is spent to put points into Capability Awakening stats, and it also pays for potential upgrades and modifying IV stats. Capability Awakening has its own guide on this site. The one thing to know here is that the yield of Legendary Stardust from drops and rewards has been increased.

Mark of the Strong stones are narrower. Unlocking a held item pact effect or a Core Skill enhancement costs 10 of them.

Lumen Amber is the broad one. It directly advances regional and world progression and is spent on Pathfinder upgrades, creature progression, equipment, Homeland development, world activities, and upgrading regional branches such as the Branch in Idol. Upgrading a branch increases local capture rates, which feeds straight back into catching the Aniimo the rarer currencies are meant for.

Finally, events have their own limit. Once your free attempts run out, additional ones such as discovery searches and entrance stones can be bought with currency. Whether that is worth it depends on how much of the currency you have left for the things above.

10

Mark of the Strong stones per unlock

Unlocking a held item pact effect or Core Skill enhancement costs 10 Mark of the Strong stones, so plan which unlock to save them for.

Where to start

Spend the free stuff daily and hoard the scarce stuff. Use your free Bloom nurtures every day, farm Sparkling Crystals in Mass Surges while your Aniipods hold out, and sell Egg Heist loot after every match. Keep Phenomena Crystals and Vein Essence for Aniimo you are sure you want. Before you convert Sparkling Crystals, check the Outpost Vendor's actual prices, because those are not settled.
