Where to buy and farm Aniipods in Aniimo
Standard Anipods cost 3,500 credits from Joff, or 2,000 in his weekly deal. Ultras take Glimmer or 20 vouchers, and Megas come from releasing Aniimo.
The short version
- Standard Anipods and Anipod Pros turn up across the open world, and the standard tier can be farmed infinitely.
- Joff sells standard Anipods for 3,500 credits each, and his weekly outpost deal drops the price to 2,000 credits.
- Catching wild Aniimo pays in-game money that recoups or exceeds what a standard Anipod costs, so buying them pays for itself.
- Mega Anipods cost 60 training points in the shop, and you earn training points by releasing Aniimo.
- Anipod Ultras come from Glimmer, from exchanging 20 vouchers, or from trading in-game currency with outpost vendors, so none of the routes needs real money.
Anipods are how you catch Aniimo, and you will never run out of the basic ones. The standard tier can be farmed indefinitely, you find them lying around the open world, and every catch pays back more than the pod cost you.
The higher tiers are the ones that take planning. Mega Anipods run on a currency you only earn by letting creatures go. Anipod Ultras, the top tier, cost Glimmer, vouchers or vendor trades. This guide covers where each tier comes from, what it costs and which sources are worth your time.
Free Anipods from exploring and playing
Standard Anipods and Anipod Pros are scattered through the open world, so exploring keeps you stocked. You also get Anipods as ordinary gameplay rewards and from in-game events without spending anything.
The standard tier is the base level of the capture item, and you can farm it infinitely. Nothing caps how many you can collect over time, which is why they are the pod you use without thinking.
The game no longer sends notification mail for common Anipods, so your inbox won't tell you when you've picked one up. Check your inventory instead.
Buying standard Anipods from Joff
When exploring doesn't keep up, buy them. Vendors such as Joff sell standard Anipods for 3,500 credits each. You buy them outright with in-game gold and nothing needs crafting.
Joff also runs a weekly discount at the outpost that sells Anipods for 2,000 credits. If you're at an outpost anyway, check that offer before paying full price.
The cost is lower than it looks. Catching a wild Aniimo pays in-game money that recoups or exceeds the price of a standard Anipod, so a pod that lands a catch has paid for itself. Farm them, buy them when you're short, and don't worry much about the credits.

Mega Anipods for training points
Mega Anipods are sold in the shop for 60 training points. The only way to earn training points is by releasing Aniimo. Your spare catches and duplicates therefore turn into better pods, so releasing the creatures you won't use is worth doing.

Anipod Ultras and the Sparkling exchange
Anipod Ultras are the top tier, and you have more than one way to get them. You can spend Glimmer on them. You can exchange 20 vouchers for one. You can also trade in-game currency with outpost vendors, which means real money is never required. Glimmer and the Glimmer Shop have their own guide on this site, so this section covers only where pods fit in.
Sparkling Cubes use the same vendors. Joff at the outposts sells them for Glimmer, and so does the item exchange vendor at headquarters. They're a limited resource and harder to come by than standard Anipods, so don't spend them casually.
The Outpost Vendor also converts Sparkling Crystals. The rates aren't settled: one Sparkling Anipod is priced at both 1,000 and 100 Sparkling Crystals, and so is one Sparkling Cube. Look at the vendor's current price before you plan a purchase around either number.

Bundles and launch rewards
The Collector's Edition battle pass bundle includes Anipods, along with the Battle Pass, an exclusive doll, an avatar frame, Glimmer, Sparkling Cubes and 300 Primoria energy. If you were buying the pass anyway, the pods come with it.
There were Ultras in the pre-launch rewards too. The 15 million pre-registration milestone gave two Anipod Ultras. The Aniimo Together web event before launch gave an Anipod Ultra, credits and evolution stones for completing a six-member squad.
Where to spend the good pods
Standard pods are cheap and never run out, so use them freely. The better tiers are the ones to save. Keep a reserve for rare spawns, weather-dependent creatures and quest targets, and don't spend them on common encounters. A weather-dependent Aniimo may not be there when you come back, and missing it because your best pods went on commons is the mistake to avoid.
Where to start
Farm standard Anipods and buy them without worrying, preferably from Joff's weekly 2,000 credit deal. Release spare Aniimo for training points to afford Megas. Save Ultras and Sparkling items for rare spawns, weather-dependent creatures and quest targets.
