Aniipod variants, tracking pods and catch items in Aniimo

The Tumbler hits 6x in dense areas, the Sparkling Cube never fails, and the Track doubles your odds. Here is when each specialist pod is worth using.

The short version

  1. Higher-tier Aniipods have higher base capture rates, but the Track and the Tumbler give up raw catch power in exchange for utility effects.
  2. The Aniipod Track, called the Trace during the beta, doubles capture chance; the beta's Trace automatically tracked its target.
  3. The Tumbler catches several clustered Aniimo in one use, up to 10 during group events, with a 3x base multiplier that rises to 6x in high-density areas since the January 29, 2026 update.
  4. Sparkling Cubes guarantee a capture and turn the creature into its Sparkling variant; Aniimo caught with the Wind Chaser's Departure Anipod are also guaranteed to be sparkling.
  5. The Tumbler's price depends on the vendor: 5,000 Credits in the shop's catch-item stock, more or Glimmer elsewhere, and 100,000 currency at Super Claw with a limit of five a week.

Most of your catching runs on ordinary Aniipods, and those scale in a simple way: a higher tier gives a higher base capture rate. The pods covered here work differently. Each one does a single job that a bigger number can't do for you.

The Track changes your odds on one target. The Tumbler takes a whole cluster at once. The Sparkling Cube takes the chance out of a capture entirely and changes what you walk away with. Knowing which one suits the encounter in front of you is most of the skill.

Where the specialist pods sit in the lineup

Aniipods come in several tiers, and a higher grade raises the base chance of capturing an Aniimo, stronger creatures included. In the beta the lineup was the standard Aniipod, Pro, Mega, Hyper, Ultra, Trace and the Sparkling Cube. You don't have to craft them either, because Aniipods can be bought directly with in-game gold. The tiers and crafting guide covers the full ladder.

The short version: use stronger pods for difficult captures, and hold them back for rare spawns, weather-dependent creatures and quest targets rather than spending them on common encounters. The specialist models are the exception to that ladder. The Track and the Tumbler trade raw catch power for utility, so don't judge them by their base rate.

Aniipod Track: the beta's Trace, renamed

The Trace was renamed Aniipod Track at launch. In the beta, the Trace automatically tracked the target creature. Under its launch name, the Track doubles capture chance.

That makes it a single-target tool. You use it when one specific creature matters, not when you're clearing a field. Given the advice to save pods for rare and quest targets, those are the encounters where the Track earns its place.

The Tumbler: catching a whole cluster at once

The Tumbler goes by several names: Tumbler Pod, Tumbler Anipod, Tumbler Oni Pod and spirit cloud. Whatever you call it, it catches multiple wild Aniimo at the same time over an area of effect. During group events a single use can hold up to 10.

Its numbers depend on where you throw it. The base capture success multiplier is 3x. Since the January 29, 2026 update, that rises to 6x in high-density areas, and it also reaches 6x during gather events. Against a lone creature it is ordinary. Against a crowd it beats standard pods.

That is why the Tumbler is the tool of choice for clusters of weak, low-level creatures and for wild surges. Throwing a high-tier pod at each common one by one wastes stock you should be keeping for rare targets. One Tumbler into the middle of the group does the job instead.

The Tumbler's base 3x multiplier rises to 6x in high density areas after the January 29, 2026 update, so save it for clusters of weak creatures.

What a Tumbler costs, and where to buy it

The price changes a lot from vendor to vendor. The shop's catch-item stock lists the Tumbler for 5,000 Credits. Other vendors charge more, or sell it for Glimmer. Super Claw sells Tumblers at a discounted price of 100,000 currency, limited to five a week. The currencies guide explains how Credits, Glimmer and the rest relate to each other.

The practical point: check the catch-item stock before you pay a higher price somewhere else, and remember the Super Claw deal is capped every week.

Other vendors price the Tumbler higher or sell it for Glimmer, so check the shop stock first.

Sparkling Cubes and guaranteed sparkling captures

The Sparkling Cube is a rare capture device that does two things. It guarantees a successful capture, and it turns any wild Aniimo it catches into a Sparkling (shiny) variant, changing its appearance. Because of that guarantee, the Cube is the one item on this list where the base rate doesn't matter at all.

It is not the only way to get a sparkling creature. Aniimo caught with the Wind Chaser's Departure Anipod are guaranteed to appear in sparkling form too.

One question is still open: how the Cube interacts with Prismana Aniimo. It is described both as the item you need to capture Prismana and as an item used on Prismana you have already caught. Until that is settled, don't plan a Prismana hunt around either reading, and don't spend a Cube on the assumption that one of them is right.

Where to start

Keep your high-tier pods for rare, weather-dependent and quest creatures. Use the Track when one target matters, and throw a Tumbler into dense clusters and gather events, where it reaches 6x. Save Sparkling Cubes for creatures you actually want in sparkling form, and hold off on using them for Prismana until that interaction is settled.
