Where to catch Hummin, Jawling, Helgon and Wisptis

Jawling's mountain form is locked behind a wall-marking puzzle, Helgon circles near Twisted Peaks, and Wisptis sits by cluster bush trees. Here is where to look for each.

The short version

  1. Both forms of Jawling are found in the Rusted Highlands, where it is a common spawn, but the mountain form sits behind a gate you open with a wall-marking alignment puzzle after talking to the young Jawling.
  2. One mountain form Jawling spawn is inside a crack in the floor near the Sanctum First Site ruins.
  3. Helgon spawns in only a few places in the Russet Highlands and can be caught in the wild, flying in circles near Twisted Peaks.
  4. Wisptis spawns in Barrowline Valley near cluster bush trees, and in the Mistwoods area below it.
  5. Hummin has a basic form and a mountain form, and it burrows into the ground when startled, so a careless approach loses you the catch.

Some Aniimo spawn everywhere. These four do not, or at least not in every form. Jawling is common but hides its mountain form behind a puzzle. Helgon turns up in only a few places. Wisptis keeps to one valley and the woods beneath it. Hummin is easy enough to spot and hard to keep in front of you.

This guide goes species by species, starting with the one people search for most. Each section tells you where the spawn is and what stands between you and the catch.

Where to find Jawling in Aniimo

Jawling
Jawling

Jawling has two forms, a basic form and a mountain form, and both are found in the Rusted Highlands. It is a common spawn there, so the basic form needs no special effort. Walk the Highlands and you will run into it.

The mountain form is the one that takes work. It has specific spawn locations rather than turning up anywhere in the region, and the main one is gated. Talk to the young Jawling first. That unlocks a puzzle where you align markings on a wall, and solving it opens the gate to the mountain form.

The mountain form also spawns inside a crack in the floor near the Sanctum First Site ruins. It is an easy spot to walk straight past, so look down when you are near the ruins rather than scanning the horizon.

Helgon: a few spots in the Russet Highlands

Helgon
Helgon

Helgon spawns in only a few places in the Russet Highlands, which is why it feels rare. You are not looking for a creature that wanders the whole region. You are looking for a handful of fixed spots.

The one to head for is Twisted Peaks. Helgon can be captured in the wild there, and you will find it flying in circles nearby. That circling flight is your best way to pick it out from a distance.

Wisptis spawns in Barrowline Valley and the Mistwoods

Wisptis
Wisptis

Wisptis spawns in Barrowline Valley. Within the valley, check near the cluster bush trees, which are the landmark to steer by.

If the valley comes up empty, drop down. Wisptis also spawns in the Mistwoods area below Barrowline Valley, so the two make a single search route rather than two separate trips.

Hummin: two forms and a habit of hiding

Hummin
Hummin

Hummin exists in two distinct forms, a basic form and a mountain form. If you are filling a dex, treat them as two separate targets, the same way you would with Jawling.

The practical problem with Hummin is behaviour, not rarity. It burrows into the ground when startled. Rush it and it is gone. Approach slowly and keep your distance until you are ready to throw.

Where to start

Start in the Rusted Highlands for basic Jawling, then talk to the young Jawling and solve the wall puzzle for the mountain form, checking the floor crack near the Sanctum First Site ruins too. Head to Twisted Peaks for Helgon, Barrowline Valley and the Mistwoods for Wisptis, and approach Hummin quietly. If you want more spawns in general, finish the Palmach (Pomok) party quest: once it is done, a large group of Aniimo spawns in that area every night.
