Guides › How to Catch Legendary Aniimo
How do you capture Irisalis?
The legendary Anipod is used during the soothe interaction to capture Irisalis, the event's legendary Aniimo.
You have to craft the pod first, and the fight it unlocks happens only once per account. Legendary Tokens come from ordinary play: exploring the open world, catching and moving the main story along. You spend them to craft your own Legendary Aniipod for Irisalis, which may be listed as the Irisalis Anipod, the Irisalis cube or the Legendary Iris Ani-pod. Crafting it opens a one-time story encounter against Irisalis and puts it on the map.
You beat Irisalis in that battle, then throw the pod you crafted during the soothe interaction. That throw always succeeds. There is no catch rate to manage, so the encounter itself is the only part you can lose, and you only get to attempt it once.
Hold on to your Iris Petals until the pod is crafted. Some event shop items, Glimmering Driftshadow among them at two Petals each, stay locked until you have crafted it, so Petals spent in the shop beforehand can leave you short.
The second pod: Wind Chaser's Departure
After the Irisalis Anipod, you can spend more Iris Petals on a second legendary pod, Wind Chaser's Departure (also called Windchase Departure or Departure of the Wind). Crafting it takes 49 Iris Petals. Anything caught with it is guaranteed to come out in sparkling form with perfect innate potential, and the catch always succeeds. If you care about either of those, budget your Petals for it before you shop.
What capturing Irisalis unlocks
Capturing Irisalis unlocks an exclusive transmog system. The Iris line, Irisalis included, is the only Aniimo that can be transmogrified, and Irisalis Prismana has the option on its own screen. Customizations bought with Glimmer, the free currency, stop at the first few options such as colour, wings and headwear.
Not settled: The order of steps is not settled. The exclusive story sequence is described both as something you finish to unlock the legendary pod and as something crafting the pod sets off.
