Irisalis: How to Get the Legendary Aniimo
Irisalis is a guaranteed catch with one attempt per account. Where Iris Petals come from, how to craft the Aniipod, and why the December end date matters.
The short version
- To get Irisalis, you craft its Legendary Aniipod from Iris Petals in the event menu, defeat Irisalis in its one-time story encounter, then throw the Aniipod during the soothe interaction.
- The capture always succeeds because you throw a pod you crafted yourself, but the encounter can only be attempted once and Irisalis can only be caught once per account.
- Irisalis is available to all players through a limited-time event that runs until December, and you get it by completing missions in the Legendary Journey section of the event menu.
- The 'How to obtain' button in the bottom left of the event menu lists every Iris Petal source, including a Permanent category, so check it before you go hunting.
- Catching Irisalis unlocks an exclusive transmog system, and the Iris line is the only Aniimo that can be transmogrified.
Irisalis is the legendary Aniimo at the centre of the current event, and every player can catch it. The event runs until December, so this is not something you can leave for later indefinitely.
The route is simple to describe. You collect Irisalis Petals, also called Iris Petals, and craft them into a Legendary Aniipod from the event menu. That pod opens a one-time story encounter. You beat Irisalis in battle, throw the pod, and the catch succeeds every time.
The work is in the petals. Most of this page is about where they come from and how to keep track of them, because that is the part that takes your time.
How to get Irisalis, step by step
Irisalis is obtained by completing missions in the Legendary Journey section of the event menu. The Legendary Journey tab on the events page tracks your progress. It shows how many Iris Petals you have accumulated and what requirements remain.
Once you have the petals, you craft them into the Irisalis Aniipod from the event menu. Crafting it unlocks a one-time narrative boss encounter against Irisalis. You defeat it in battle, then use the Aniipod during the soothe interaction to capture it.
This follows the same pattern as every legendary Aniimo: craft the pod, unlock the exclusive story encounter, win the fight, throw the pod. The general system has its own guide on this site. What is specific to Irisalis is the currency (petals), where you craft (the event menu) and the deadline (December).
Where Iris Petals come from
Start with the 'How to obtain' button in the bottom left of the event menu. It lists every Irisalis petal source and location, including a Permanent category. It is the quickest way to see what you have not done yet.
Which sources supply most of your petals is not settled. One picture has them as permanent rewards you earn just by playing, sometimes at random. That list is long: the main story and journey quests, side stories, exploration including Breezy Plains, silver badges, a gather task for collecting items around the world, first clears of Alpha boss battles, fighting Irisalis at the Faded Rainbow, and Branch Nurturing, plus a weekly-limited source. The other picture has them coming mainly from the stamp shop and event shop rather than permanent sources. Check both shops and the permanent list rather than relying on one.
A few sources are worth knowing in detail:
Alpha Aniimo. Defeating each Alpha Aniimo for the first time, Alpha Minespine included, awards an Irisalis petal without consuming energy. If you have Alphas you have skipped, that is free progress.
Silver badges. Earning a silver badge in a region awards Iris Petals.
Branch Nurturing. Levelling up the Branch Nurture tree by infusing Lumin Amber awards three petals for each Branch Nurture level of the main branch.
The weekly Irisalis investigation. This is a limited source that can be cleared twice per week. Because the cap resets weekly, missing a week loses those petals for good, so clear it every week the event is running.
The Faded Rainbow. Fighting Irisalis at the Faded Rainbow is a petal source, and that fight requires player level 20.
Crafting the Irisalis Aniipod
The pod goes by several names, which is confusing when you are looking for it in menus. You will see it called the Irisalis Aniipod, the Iris Solis, the Legendary Iris Ani-pod and the Irisalis Anipod, and it is shown as an Irisalis cube. They are all the same dedicated legendary pod for capturing Irisalis.
You craft it from Irisalis Petals in the event menu. It is not the last thing petals buy. With more petals you can then craft Wind Chaser's Departure, so petals you earn after the Irisalis Aniipod still have a use.
Other legendary Aniimo use Legendary Tokens, earned through exploration, catching and main story progression, to craft their personal Legendary Aniipod. Irisalis follows the same idea, with the event's petals as the material.
The encounter and the guaranteed capture
The order of events around the story encounter is not settled. The exclusive story sequence is given both as something you must complete to unlock the legendary Anipod and as something crafting the pod triggers, along with an encounter on the map. In practice, follow the Legendary Journey tab and it will tell you what is outstanding.
What is settled is the rule that matters most: legendary Aniimo can only be captured once per account, and their story encounters can only be attempted once. Go in prepared.
The good news is that the catch itself carries no risk. Capturing Irisalis is guaranteed rather than random. You defeat it, use your crafted Aniipod during the soothe interaction, and the catch always succeeds. There is no catch rate to worry about and nothing to grind for better odds. The fight is the only part you can get wrong.

Transmog: what Irisalis unlocks
Capturing Irisalis unlocks an exclusive transmog customization system. Irisalis Prismana has a transmog option on its screen for changing its appearance.
This is unique to the Iris line. The line, Irisalis included, can be transmogrified, and Iris is the only Aniimo that can be. If you care about how your team looks, this is the only creature that offers it.
Where to start
Open the event menu, press 'How to obtain' and work through the sources you have not touched. First clears of Alphas and silver badges are easy early petals. Clear the weekly Irisalis investigation twice every week until December. Craft the Irisalis Aniipod, take the one-time fight seriously, and the capture is guaranteed. After that, try the transmog option, which only the Iris line has.
