How do you catch a Sparkling Aniimo?

Catching an Aniimo with a Sparkling Cube makes it a sparkling version, including prismatics and Umbras.

The Cube never misses, so the only thing left to chance is which colour you get. A Sparkling Cube has a 100% catch rate. On a wild Aniimo it gives a common sparkling style 99% of the time and the Dazzling style 1% of the time. It never gives Shadow, which is the other of the two rarest types.

It works the same way on a prismatic, which comes out as a sparkling prismatic, and on an Umbra, which comes out as a Sparkling Umbra. Sparkling is cosmetic only. You get the shimmer, the coloured outline and a new palette. You do not get better stats than the standard form.

If you don't like the colour you rolled, Sparkling Pigment rerolls it. Each use picks a new colour at random, and Dazzling is one of the possible results. It only works on an Aniimo that is already Sparkling.

Where to spend a Sparkling Cube

Cubes are scarce and harder to get than standard Anipods. You can buy them with real money, or convert Sparkling Crystals into them at the Outpost Vendor, though the exchange rate there is not settled. Because they are scarce, save them for Aniimo you will actually put on your active team: confirmed meta picks, Alphas with strong core skills, Prismana eggs, Prismana Aniimo (where the colour change shows most) or a Vein Abundance Aniimo you want. Don't spend them on every Prismana you meet, on your first Alpha or on a monster nobody has tested yet.

Getting a sparkling Aniimo without throwing a Cube

Ten Sparkling Stamps convert an Aniimo into its sparkling form. Eggs can also produce one. Prismatic eggs have a 0.5% chance of a sparkling or shadow mutation, and an egg carrying the sparkling mutation always hatches sparkling. You can also use a Cube on certain eggs while they incubate.

In the open world, the first stage of the Wind Chaser badge raises Sparkling spawns by about 50%, to roughly 1 in 13,000. It is not settled whether that bonus applies to the whole map or only to Breezy Plains.

A Prismana Orb used on an Aniimo that is already sparkling turns it into a sparkling Prismana. It keeps its Alpha status and perfect potential.

Not settled: It is not settled whether a Cube catch also guarantees perfect potential. A Cube never lowers quality, but an Alpha caught with one may still roll elite or imperfect stats.
