Does a Sparkling Cube guarantee shiny and perfect stats?
The catch is certain. The shiny and the perfect stats are not settled, and an Egg Heist egg cannot roll Dazzling. Here is where a cube is worth spending.
The short version
- A Sparkling Cube has a guaranteed 100% catch rate, so a spawned Prismana thrown at with one is always captured.
- Whether a Sparkling Cube guarantees a sparkling result, and whether it guarantees perfect stats, are both unsettled in the current game; it does not lower quality, though.
- Style odds depend on the source: a wild catch gives the common Sparkling style 99% of the time and Dazzling 1%, an ordinary egg has 0% shadow, and an Egg Heist egg has 0% Dazzling.
- A guaranteed Prismana Egg hatched with a Sparkling Cube gives a perfect Sparkling Prismana, and an alpha egg gives a result that is alpha, sparkling, perfect and Prismana.
- Save cubes for confirmed meta picks, strong Alphas, Prismana eggs and Vein Abundance targets, not every Prismana or first-time Alpha you meet.
The Sparkling Cube is the rare, real-money capture device in Aniimo, and it carries a lot of names: Sparkling Pod, Shiny Cube, Gleam Cube, Twinkle Cube and a few more. Whatever you call it, people buy it hoping for two things at once: a shiny and perfect stats.
One thing about it is certain. The catch never fails. The other two promises are where it gets complicated, and the answer changes depending on whether you throw it at a wild Aniimo, use it on an egg, or point it at an Alpha or a Prismana.
This page covers what the cube does to a catch or an egg, what it does to potential and stats, and which targets deserve one. The broader shiny system has its own article on this site, "Sparkling Aniimo: Shiny Variants and Sparkling Cubes", so this page only touches it where the cube needs it.
What a Sparkling Cube guarantees, and what it does not
The guaranteed part is the capture. A Sparkling Cube has a 100% catch rate, so throwing one at a spawned Prismana always captures it. That alone is why some players use it.
The cube's main job is to turn what it catches into a Sparkling (shiny) variant with a changed appearance, and that applies to prismatics and Umbras too. Being caught with a Sparkling Cube or sparkling pod is one of the ways an Aniimo gains the Sparkling trait; items are the other.
The catch is that whether the cube actually guarantees a sparkling result is not settled in the current game. It is treated as making any wild Aniimo it catches sparkling, and as making an already caught Aniimo shiny when used on it. It is also treated as giving a 99% chance of a standard gleaming variant, or only a chance of the sparkling attribute, or simply an easier shiny capture. Until that firms up, buy the cube for the certain catch and treat the shiny as very likely rather than promised.
If you already own a shiny and dislike its color, a Sparkling Cube can reroll it. The new color is random and you cannot choose it, so expect to gamble rather than pick.
Sparkling style odds on catches and eggs
Sparkling is not a single look. There is a common Sparkling style, a rarer Dazzling style and a shadow style, and the cube's odds of each depend on what you use it on.
On a wild catch, the cube gives the common sparkling style 99% of the time and the Dazzling style 1% of the time. It never gives a shadow style.
On eggs, the egg type matters. A Sparkling Cube can be applied to an egg in the Hatchinator before it hatches, which is the easiest route to a shiny from breeding. An ordinary egg has a 99% chance of the common Sparkling style and 0% for the shadow style. An Egg Heist egg has 0% chance of the Dazzling style, so if Dazzling is what you are after, do not spend a cube on Egg Heist eggs.
Prismana eggs are the exception for shadow. A creature hatched from a Prismana egg has a tiny chance of carrying the Shadow Sparkling Mutation, for example when a shop-bought Prismana egg is hatched with a Sparkling Cube. It is a long shot, but it is the only route to shadow that a cube opens.

Aniimo perfect stats: does the cube make a catch perfect?
Captured creatures arrive in normal, elite or perfect condition. Even a standard cube has a random chance of producing perfect stats, so perfect is not something only a Sparkling Cube can give you.
Whether a Sparkling Cube guarantees perfect potential and perfect stats is not settled. On one side, it is treated as always guaranteeing perfect since the launch update, for any Aniimo captured with it, Alphas and Prismana included. On eggs and hatched Aniimo it is treated as overriding a guaranteed elite potential and raising it to perfect. On the other side, it is treated as still able to roll imperfect stats, Alphas included, possibly landing only elite, only a minimum starting stat value of 8, or with no guarantee of an elite result at all.
What holds either way is that the cube does not lower quality. You will not throw one and come away worse than the catch would otherwise have been.
There is also a bonus for creatures that are already perfect. Using a Sparkling Cube on an Aniimo with perfect stats grants additional potential, raising the innate potential for its recommended attributes to at least seed level 8 and improving the chance they exceed eight. That makes a perfect creature a better cube target than a random one.
- NormalThe lowest of the three conditions a capture can arrive in.
- EliteThe middle condition. Whether a Sparkling Cube always lifts a catch above elite is unsettled.
- PerfectThe top condition. Even a standard cube has a random chance of rolling it.
Aniimo alpha eggs, Prismana eggs and sparkling eggs
This is where the cube's results are the cleanest. An Aniimo can be both Prismana and sparkling, and using a sparkling item such as a Sparkling Cube on a guaranteed Prismana Egg hatches a perfect Sparkling Prismana Aniimo. On an alpha egg the result is alpha, sparkling, perfect and Prismana all at once.
Alphas get the same treatment outside eggs. The cube is treated as turning an Alpha, including one hatched from an Alpha egg such as a Sherro alpha egg, into a Perfect Sparkling Alpha. Keep in mind that the perfect stats part is the same unsettled question as above, and imperfect rolls on Alphas are part of it.
How the cube is meant to be used on Prismana Aniimo outside eggs is also not settled. It is treated both as especially valuable for, or even required in, capturing Prismana, and as an item you use on a Prismana you have already caught to change its hue. Either way, the 100% catch rate means a cube thrown at a spawned Prismana will land.
Which targets deserve a Sparkling Cube
Because the cube costs real money and its stat guarantee is not settled, spend it where the shiny and the catch both matter. The best targets are the ones you actually intend to run on your active team.
That means confirmed meta picks, Alphas with strong core skills, Prismana eggs, Prismana Aniimo where the visual change is most noticeable, or a Vein Abundance Aniimo you specifically want. Since a cube on an already perfect Aniimo also lifts its potential, a creature you have already confirmed as perfect is a stronger candidate than a fresh catch.
What to skip: every Prismana you happen to catch, first-time Alphas, and early monsters whose value is not confirmed yet. Those are the throws you regret once a better target appears.
Where to start
Use a Sparkling Cube when you need the catch to land and the creature is going on your active team. The 100% capture is the only certain part. Treat the shiny as near certain and the perfect stats as unsettled, and for the strongest result put it on a guaranteed Prismana Egg or an alpha egg in the Hatchinator. Skip Egg Heist eggs if you want Dazzling.
