Guides › Why an Aniimo won't spawn: unlocks, night and events
What affects where and when Aniimo spawn?
Which Aniimo spawn depends on their designated habitats and on environmental conditions, including the time of day through the day-night cycle, the real-time weather and limited-time climatic events such as blooms, and certain special species, rare variants and weather forms appear in their zone only under specific weather conditions or at specific times of day.
Rainstorms in the Sea of Flowers trigger exclusive Aniimo spawns. Searching an area during clear skies will not reveal every creature present. Certain creatures only appear under specific weather conditions such as rain or snow, so a route cleared earlier holds different targets once a storm rolls in.
Weather forms of Aniimos also appear on the map strictly during their matching conditions. Leaving a zone before the weather changes means missing the window for those specific variants.
Day and night cycles
A zone changes its roster as the sun sets. Certain Aniimo species can only be caught during the day, while other species only emerge at night.
Certain Aniimo forms also require nighttime alongside specific weather conditions before they spawn. Tracking these creatures requires waiting for both factors to align in their designated habitat.
Climatic events and blooms
Climatic events introduce narrow windows for rare encounters. During bloom nurturing events, active weather conditions determine which rare Aniimo can spawn.
Certain creatures remain unobtainable outside these limited-time events and their linked weather states. Passing through a region during ordinary conditions will never make them appear.
