How do you unlock a region's silver badge?
A region's silver collection badge requires 70% capture progress in that region, and in Beast Fang Ridge it also requires defeating Alpha Scorchhowl.
Reaching it pays out Iris Petals, and the count resets for every region you enter. Progress in one zone does nothing for another, so each region has its own silver to chase, and the 70% line applies to that zone's catches alone.
Silver is the step after bronze. One version of the bronze requirement puts it at 40% of the region's native Aniimo, which leaves a gap of 30 percentage points to close before silver. In practice that means going after the Aniimo native to that region you have not caught yet, rather than piling up more of the ones you already have.
Silver may also matter for more than the petals. Earning a region's silver badge is one of the stated routes to unlocking weather control in that area, so if you want to change the weather somewhere, finishing that zone's silver badge is a sensible target.
Not settled: What unlocks weather control in an area is not settled. Earning that area's silver badge is one stated route, but submitting 60 Amber pieces there and progressing the region's bloom branch are given as well. A silver badge alone may not be enough to unlock it.
