Guides › Egg Heist backpack: inventory slots, weight and what to carry

What loot should you take in Egg Heist?

In Egg Heist, gold-tier items and talent materials are the loot worth taking, rather than filling the backpack with everything.

Anything blue quality or below is generally not worth carrying out, and in Chaos Mode the gold-tier drops alone are enough to fill your inventory. If you run Chaos Egg Heist solo, set the bar at gold tier and above and leave everything else where it fell.

The reason to be picky is weight. The carry cap is 72 kg, and at 73 kg you cannot move at all. Even below the cap, heavy loads lower your movement speed. That costs you on a run where nothing you pick up counts until you extract.

Keeping the loot once you have it

Fainting, dying or failing to extract costs you the entire backpack. That includes the loot and any equipped Heist gear not covered by protection items, and it applies in Chaos mode too. The safe is the exception. Anything stored there survives even if you or the whole team faints, so the pieces you cannot afford to lose belong in it.

One or two Gilded Keys are recommended for each run. Eggshell coins pay for the talent tree and for gear such as expanded backpacks and protective units, which is where your carrying room and your protection come from.

After a successful extraction the loot does not go anywhere on its own. It stays in the backpack until you move it to your inventory by hand.
