Aniimo F2P limits: what you can earn without paying
Glimmer, Sparkling Cubes and the season pass are all free. One Prismana Aniimo is not, and free Glimmer income slows sharply around level 58 to 60.

The short version
- Glimmer is fully earnable without paying, and you spend it in the Glimmer tab of the premium shop with no real money involved.
- Daily tasks and events are the most efficient free Glimmer sources, and they matter more later because free income slows sharply past roughly level 58 to 60.
- Sparkling Cubes come free from the story, main quests, exploration, the launch mail and occasional events. Their only settled effect is a guaranteed catch.
- The standard season pass is free and its level 10 reward is a Fulmintis egg, the only way a free player gets one.
- The paid Companion Handbook track holds one Prismana Aniimo that free players cannot obtain, and Prismana forms cost at least $10.
If you never plan to spend, Aniimo leaves you more room than you might expect. The gem currency, the best capture item and the season pass are all open to free players. Most of what money buys is speed or convenience, not access.
There are real limits, though. One creature sits behind a paywall, and your free income has a ceiling that arrives in the late game. This page sets out what you can earn for free, where free stops, and what spending only speeds up.
Glimmer is the currency you can live on
Glimmer is the gem currency, and free players can earn all of it. It comes from almost everything you do: story progress, quests and missions, daily tasks, events, elite training, boss battles, chests, puzzles, branch activities, the battle pass and the Holo Battle Simulator. Challenges and milestones pay out too.
You spend it in the Glimmer tab of the premium shop. That tab sits in the same shop as the paid items, but you never need real money to use it.
The catch is the late game. Free Glimmer income slows sharply as you progress, especially past roughly level 58 to 60. Story and one-off rewards dry up, which leaves daily tasks and events. Those are the most efficient sources anyway, so build the habit early. Treat them as your steady income, not a bonus, and you will feel the slowdown less when it arrives. The full breakdown of every currency has its own page; for a free player, Glimmer is the one that matters.

Sparkling Cubes without paying
The Sparkling Cube goes by many names: Sparkling Pod, Sparkling Aniipod, Gleam Cube, Twinkle Cube, Shiny Cube. You can buy it with real money, but you do not have to. Free players get Sparkling Cubes through the story, main quests, exploration, the launch mail rewards and occasional in-game events.
What it does for certain is catch. It has a guaranteed 100% catch rate, so a Sparkling Cube thrown at a spawned Prismana always captures it. That alone makes your free supply worth saving for the creatures you cannot afford to lose.
Everything beyond the catch is not settled in the game. Whether it guarantees a Sparkling variant, on a wild catch or during egg incubation, has no fixed answer. Neither does whether it guarantees perfect potential and perfect stats. The one firm point is that it does not lower quality. So use a Cube for the catch you need, and treat anything extra as a bonus rather than the reason you threw it.
The season pass: what the free track gives you
The standard season pass and the Companion Handbook are free for every player. The Handbook has its own guide on this site, so here is only what a free player needs to know.
The free battle pass gives you a Fulmintis egg at level 10, and that is the only way a free player gets one. Reach level 10 while the pass is running.
The Prismana version is a different story. Prismana Fulmintis comes through the Companion Handbook battle pass, but which track it sits on is not settled: it is listed both on the free track and as exclusive to the paid one. What is fixed is that the paid track includes one Prismana Aniimo, such as Fulmintis, that free players cannot obtain. Prismana forms are a higher Handbook tier, and they must be bought, at a cost of at least $10. That is the clearest hard wall for a free player in the game right now.

What money only speeds up
Some paid options buy time, not access. Egg hatching can be sped up with real money, and the monthly pass cuts hatch time by two hours. A free player hatches the same eggs and simply waits longer.
Lumen Crystals can buy Sparkling Cubes and Anipod Ultras, but at a markup. Since Sparkling Cubes already come free through play, that markup buys convenience: more Cubes sooner, not a Cube you could not otherwise have.
Where to start
If you play free, do your daily tasks and events every day, because they hold up once free Glimmer slows past roughly level 58 to 60. Get the free pass to level 10 for the Fulmintis egg. Save your free Sparkling Cubes for the catches you cannot afford to miss. The one thing you cannot earn is the paid track's Prismana Aniimo. Hatch speed and extra Cubes cost you nothing but patience.
