Aniimo Spawn Locations by Region
Where Skippy, Dewy, Wisptis and Melloblum spawn, which regions hold Prismana Blazen and Thornblade, and the weather that brings Prismana out.
The short version
- Prismana Aniimo spawn only in specific regional zones, and each region generally has one of its own; they show up under weather such as the rare regional Prismana Flow or a Prismatic Storm.
- Prismana Blazen spawns in Blitz Wood, south of its Bloom location, and Prismana Thornblade spawns in the Sea of Flowers.
- Skippy is an easy early catch in the waters of Nimbus Fields, especially along its rainy coastal sections, and Dreepo sleeps on the stairs below the large circle near the Nimbus Fields teleport.
- Wisptis spawns in Balerion Veil, Barrowline Valley and the Mistwoods, and Barrowline Valley has more of them than the Mistwoods.
- Aniimo forms are not fixed. They vary with local terrain and climate, so the same species can look different from one region to the next.
Aniimo spawns are tied to place. Each region in the open world has its own biome, its own weather and its own native creatures, so finding a particular species is mostly a matter of knowing which region to stand in and, for the rarer ones, what the sky is doing.
This page is a lookup. It starts with Prismana Aniimo, because they are the hardest to pin down, then goes region by region through where specific species spawn. Alpha locations get a line each, since they have their own article.
Where Prismana Aniimo spawn
Prismana Aniimo do not roam the whole map. They spawn only in specific regional zones, and each region generally has one Prismana Aniimo of its own. That makes the region the first thing to get right. If you are hunting a particular Prismana, you are looking in one region, not everywhere.
Weather is the second thing. Prismana-form Aniimo appear in the wild under specific conditions, such as the rare regional Prismana Flow or a Prismatic Storm. Being in the right zone on a clear day is not enough.
Two Prismana locations are pinned down. Prismana Blazen spawns in Blitz Wood, which lies south of its Bloom location. Prismana Thornblade spawns in the Sea of Flowers region.
Why the same species looks different by region
Aniimo forms are not fixed. They vary with local terrain and climate, which ties back to how regions differ in biome, weather and native creatures. The practical upshot: a species you have already caught in one place may be worth catching again somewhere with different ground and different weather.
The starter area is not the only home for familiar faces either. Emberpup, for one, can be found in regions beyond the starting area.
Nimbus Fields: Skippy, Dreepo and Geoclaw
Skippy is easy to get early in the game. It is caught in the waters of Nimbus Fields, and it spawns along the rainy coastal sections in particular, so follow the shoreline when the weather turns.
Dreepo is in Nimbus Fields too. Look on the stairs below the large circle near the teleport, where it is found sleeping.
The region also holds an Alpha. Geoclaw is inside a cave revealed by Earth Wake Revelation, reached by a stream and lake to the west of the Breezy Plains branch.
Rose Tower Woods and the Sea of Flowers
Dewy spawns in both Rose Tower Woods and the Sea of Flowers, so either region will do.
Melloblum is found around White Rose Tower in Rose Tower Woods. Its habitat is at the bottom of the maze near the waypoint, and it also appears during the Vein Abundance event.
Grisbow is in Rose Tower Woods as well, in the Bear Cave North. Its Alpha is underground inside Bear Cave.
The Sea of Flowers is also where Prismana Thornblade spawns, which makes it a region worth revisiting when the Prismana weather rolls in.
Other regions: Wisptis, Leafy, Popota, Jawling and Tubster
Wisptis spawns and can be caught across several areas: Balerion Veil, Barrowline Valley and the Mistwoods. Barrowline Valley has more of them than the Mistwoods, so go there first if you want several.
Leafy can also be caught in the Mistwoods, which makes that region a two-for-one stop.
Popota spawns and can be captured at Echoback Landing. Jawling is a common spawn in the Rusted Highlands.
Alpha Tubster is in the Argent Strait, below Omega Tukin, with no access requirements. Alpha Aniimo in general are spread across the world map as regular wild encounters, not only as world bosses; the Alpha boss article covers them in full.
Regional progress and rewards
Exploring a region pays out on its own. Each region offers exploration progression rewards that you claim directly from the map interface, so check the map after a long session in one area.
Regional collection badges are less clear. What unlocks a region's bronze badge is not settled: it is described both as progress from completing quests in the region and as collecting different Aniimo native to that region until regional collection completion reaches 40%. Either way, catching a region's native species while you are there does not hurt.
Where to start
Pick the region first, then the spot: Nimbus Fields waters for Skippy, Barrowline Valley for Wisptis, the Sea of Flowers for Dewy and Prismana Thornblade. For a Prismana, stay in its home zone and wait for a Prismana Flow or a Prismatic Storm. Claim the exploration rewards from the map while you are there.
