Aniimo Spawns in Nimbus Fields

Which Aniimo you can actually catch in the starting zone, which stretch of it Skippy holds to, and the one name no amount of hunting will produce.

The short version

  1. Emberpup spawns in Nimbus Fields and can be farmed there immediately after you start the game
  2. Budclaw, Celestis and Nimbi all spawn in Nimbus Fields
  3. Skippy spawns along the rainy coastal sections of the zone, not across it generally
  4. Pawney cannot be caught in the wild at any point in the game; you get it by evolving Helmut
  5. Emberpup also appears in regions outside the starting area, so Nimbus Fields is not your only shot at it
  6. Upgrading the Branch unlocks access to new areas

Nimbus Fields is the zone you start in, and for a while it is the only zone you have. That makes its spawn list worth knowing properly rather than learning by accident.

Four Aniimo in this guide turn up here as wild encounters. One of them is available to farm from your first minutes in the game. One more sticks to a specific stretch of the map rather than the zone at large. And one name people go looking for in Nimbus Fields is not catchable in the wild anywhere, so the hours you spend hunting it are wasted.

Here is what the zone actually holds, where to walk for it, and what gets you out of it.

What spawns in Nimbus Fields, and what does not

Pawney
Pawney

Emberpup is the one to know first. It spawns in Nimbus Fields and you can farm it right after starting the game, with no unlock and no prerequisite in between. That makes it the natural target for your first serious run of catches, because you can repeat it as long as you like from minute one.

Budclaw spawns here too. So do Celestis and Nimbi. Those three are listed for the zone rather than for any one corner of it, so ordinary exploration is the way you meet them.

Pawney is the name to strike off your Nimbus Fields plans. It cannot be caught in the wild in Aniimo at any stage of the game, not here and not later, in any zone, at any point in your progression. You get a Pawney by evolving Helmut. If you have been circling the starting zone hoping one appears, stop; the encounter does not exist.

Skippy keeps to the rainy coast

Skippy
Skippy

Skippy is the exception to wandering. It spawns along the rainy coastal sections of Nimbus Fields, which is a narrower instruction than the zone-wide listings for Celestis, Budclaw and Nimbi. Inland laps will not produce one no matter how many you run.

That is worth planning around, because your Emberpup farming loop and your Skippy hunt are not the same walk. Sort them into separate trips: one for the ground you can farm repeatedly, one out to the wet coastline.

Skippy spawns along the rainy coastal sections of Nimbus Fields.

Upgrading the Branch, and why Emberpup is not urgent

Emberpup
Emberpup

Upgrading the Branch unlocks access to new areas. That is the lever that takes you past the starting zone, so if the Nimbus Fields list is starting to feel exhausted, the Branch is where the next set of ground comes from.

It also takes some pressure off. Emberpup can be found in regions other than the starting area, which means Nimbus Fields is a convenient early source for it rather than your only one. Farm it here because it is easy and close, not because you think the window shuts behind you.

Emberpup can be farmed in Nimbus Fields right after starting the game. It also appears in regions beyond the starting area.

Where to start

Farm Emberpup in Nimbus Fields from the start, watch for Budclaw, Celestis and Nimbi as you explore, and make a separate trip out to the rainy coast for Skippy. Do not hunt Pawney; evolve a Helmut instead. When the zone runs dry, upgrade the Branch.
