Workers unlock at Homeland RV level 2 and fill up to 20 slots at level 6. Here's how to match work types, place storage for haulers, and decide who stays off the battle team.

The short version

  1. Aniimo worker automation unlocks when you upgrade the Homeland RV to level 2, and RV level 6 lets you place 20 Aniimo in the Homeland as workers.
  2. Each Aniimo's work-type abilities decide which Homeland jobs it can do, and its personality affects how efficiently it does them, so put each worker on its best job.
  3. Evolving a regular Aniimo from Lumin to Nova raises its home abilities to level 3, which makes evolved Aniimo the better workers.
  4. Haulers move produce from facilities to storage, so storage units placed near crop fields, resource plots and crafting stations cut transit time.
  5. A worker can't be in your battle roster, active party or the open world at the same time, so every Aniimo you assign is one you can't fight with.

Any Aniimo you catch and don't use on your team can go to work in the Homeland. Assigned to a housing plot or base, it does specific jobs, gathers resources and crafts items according to its specialties. Workers plant and tend crops, draw water, mine stone and craft items such as pods. They also work as laborers in the RV factory.

The appeal is that all of this runs without you. Homeland workers handle farming and production passively, and production carries on while you are AFK or offline. The cost is just as simple: a working Aniimo isn't available for anything else.

This guide covers getting workers unlocked, matching each one to the right job, setting up hauling, and deciding who works and who fights.

Unlocking workers and growing the crew

Worker automation isn't available from the start. It unlocks when you upgrade the Homeland RV to level 2. From there, more RV levels mean more room, and at RV level 6 you can place 20 Aniimo in the Homeland as workers.

You can deploy several duplicates of the same species to the homestead at once. A spare copy of a creature you already own makes a perfectly good worker, and you don't have to fill every slot with a different species.

If you're not sure what to put where, open the ability distribution menu. It shows the recommended number and types of Aniimo for your home abilities at your current level, which is the quickest way to see where your crew is short.

Homeland workers at RV level 6

Upgrading the Homeland RV to level 6 lets you place 20 Aniimo as workers, so it decides how many captures are worth keeping for the Homeland.

Matching work types to jobs

Every Aniimo has work-type abilities, and those decide which Homeland jobs it can do. A creature without the right ability for a station can't staff it, so read work types before you assign anyone.

Among creatures that can do a job, some do it better. An Aniimo's personality affects how efficiently it works homestead jobs such as crafting and gathering. Putting each worker on the job it is best at gives you more output. Putting it wherever there's a free slot gives you less.

Evolution helps too. Evolved Aniimo make better Homeland workers, and evolving a regular Aniimo from Lumin to Nova stage raises its home abilities to level 3. If you're choosing between two candidates for a station, the evolved one is the safer pick.

The jobs themselves change as the homestead grows. Clay mining unlocks at Homestead rank five, where clay replaces rocks, so check your assignments again after early upgrades.

Hauling and where to put storage

Producing goods is only half the job. Something has to move them. Aniimo with the hauling trait carry collected items to storage boxes in the Homeland. When a hauler isn't busy at its main station, it moves stockpiled produce from facilities to home storage.

That makes layout matter. Placing storage units near crop fields, resource plots and crafting stations cuts down item transport and transit times. Less walking means haulers get back to their stations sooner and your stockpiles reach storage faster. Plan your storage around your fields and stations, not off in a corner.

What the Homeland produces

Staffed facilities keep producing over time. A developed Homeland passively turns out standard Aniipods and Growth Fruit, and workers also produce Bud Tickets while you're busy elsewhere. Workers can craft items within the housing plot as well.

Higher Aniipod tiers come from the Homeland too. You can craft Anipod Megas there, and Anipod Pros through Homeland production, though both also turn up from other sources such as quests and shops.

There's one running cost: crafting Aniipods and experience items at home uses up Primegy. Keep an eye on it if you've queued a lot of crafting.

Workers versus your combat roster

This is the real decision. An Aniimo assigned to Homeland work can't be used in the battle roster or in other modes at the same time. Workers at home or on the farm are out of the active combat party and the open world. Each worker is a creature you've chosen not to fight with.

In practice, workers come from your spares: Aniimo you've caught and don't use on the team, duplicates, and creatures whose work types are worth more at a station than in a fight. Since duplicates can work together, a second or third copy of something is often more useful working than sitting in storage.

That's also a reason to slow down when clearing out catches. Auto-releasing without looking can throw away special forms such as weather forms, evolutions, and forms you need for split evolutions and for the homestead. Review a catch before you let it go, because it might be your next worker.

Where to start

Get the Homeland RV to level 2 so workers can automate, then fill slots from your spare catches and duplicates. Use the ability distribution menu to see what's missing. Put each worker on the job its work type and personality suit best, prefer evolved Aniimo, and keep storage close to fields and stations so haulers don't waste trips. Keep your strongest fighters off the work list, since a worker can't fight.
