How to Change the Weather in Aniimo
Prismana Flow is the only weather you can trigger. Unlock Prismana Radiance on the Breezy Plains branch, then spend a Prismana Crystal through Change Weather.
The short version
- Prismana Flow is the only weather state you can currently trigger yourself. Rain, mist and the rest are not yours to call.
- Prismana Radiance is the third major upgrade on the Breezy Plains branch, and it is what lets you alter the weather to summon Prismana Aniimo.
- Using a Prismana Crystal through Change Weather activates Prismana Flow directly.
- Nurturing at a region's Branch builds Prismatic Energy and can also bring on Prismana Flow, and every nurture action has the same base chance of triggering it.
- A descending beam of light marks where a Prismana Aniimo has spawned, so look for the beam once the weather turns.
Weather in Aniimo mostly happens to you. It shifts on its own, and it changes which forms of a creature you meet and how they look. There is exactly one exception: Prismana Flow, the only weather state players are currently able to trigger.
That one exception is the whole reason to care about changing the weather. Prismana Flow is tied to Prismana Aniimo, and getting it on demand means unlocking the right Branch upgrade and knowing which actions bring it on. This guide covers the unlock, the two routes into Prismana Flow, and how to find what spawns once it starts.
Prismana Flow is the only weather you control
Before you go looking for a rain switch, know that there isn't one. Prismana Flow is the only weather state you can currently trigger. Everything else follows the world's own cycle.
That makes "changing the weather" in Aniimo a narrower job than it sounds. You are not picking a forecast. You are pushing a region into Prismana Flow so that Prismana Aniimo show up for capture.
Unlocking Prismana Radiance on the Breezy Plains branch
The weather tool sits behind Branch upgrades. Prismana Radiance is the third major upgrade on the Breezy Plains branch, and it is the one that lets you alter weather conditions to summon Prismanas.
Because it is the third major upgrade rather than the first, expect to put some work into the Breezy Plains branch before you get it. Treat it as a goal you build toward, not something you stumble into early.
Two ways to bring on Prismana Flow
The direct route is Change Weather. Use a Prismana Crystal through Change Weather and Prismana Flow activates. If you have a crystal and want Prismana Flow now, this is the button.
The slower route is nurturing. Nurturing is unlocked at a region's Branch, and it builds Prismatic Energy, which makes Prismana Aniimo appear for capture. It can also bring on Prismana Flow by itself.
The useful thing to know about nurturing is that no action is better than another for this. Every ecosystem nurture action shares the same base chance of triggering Prismana Flow. Do whichever nurture action is most convenient; you are not missing a hidden best option.
Nurturing
- Unlocked at a region's Branch
- Builds Prismatic Energy that makes Prismana Aniimo appear
- Every nurture action shares the same base chance of triggering Prismana Flow
Prismana Crystal
- Used through Change Weather
- Activates Prismana Flow
- Change Weather comes from Prismana Radiance, the third major upgrade on the Breezy Plains branch
Finding Prismana Aniimo once the weather turns
When a Prismana Aniimo spawns, a descending beam of light marks the spot. Once Prismana Flow is up, scan the horizon for the beam rather than wandering at random.
Spawns are tied to places. Prismana Hexen, for example, spawns in Mist Woods or Whiswoods after you activate the branch or change the weather. Where each Prismana appears and how the rotation works has its own guide on this site.
What ordinary weather does to Aniimo
The weather you cannot control still matters. Certain Aniimo change their form or appearance with the weather or with day and night, and a creature's look can also shift with region, environment and time of day. Within one family you can meet rainstorm, cloud mist and plateau forms, and some creatures are regional variants that look different depending on where you find them.
These are not always cosmetic. Weather variants can come with altered elements, elemental enhancements and skill upgrades, and alternate evolution forms can have their own abilities, combat roles and even a new element. Moves unlocked from a weather variant or alternate form can be equipped onto the standard form in the same family. Irisalis is the exception that proves the point: its customisation gives cosmetic skins, not separate forms. The full species list and move unlocks are covered in the weather forms guide on this site.
Where to start
Head for the Breezy Plains branch and work it up to Prismana Radiance. After that, a Prismana Crystal through Change Weather is your guaranteed way into Prismana Flow. Between crystals, nurture whichever way is easiest, since every action has the same chance, and watch for the beam of light.
