How to unlock Prismana weather control in a region
Catch around 40% of a zone's species to open its Prismana flow, then work toward weather control. Here is what each unlock condition asks and how the menu works.
The short version
- Catching around 40% of a zone's species unlocks that zone's Bloom and its Prismana flow.
- The exact trigger for weather control in an area is not settled. It is tied to submitting 60 Amber pieces there, earning the area's silver badge, and reaching 60 percent completion of the region's bloom graph.
- Once weather control opens, you use a Prismana Crystal from the Change Weather menu to activate Prismana Flow and spawn Prismana Aniimo and rare variants.
- The Change Weather screen previews which Aniimo can spawn during the event, Prismana included, so check it before you spend anything.
- Clicking the sun icon on the fully zoomed-out map shows a forecast of regional weather up to 24 hours ahead, with a timer.
Prismana Aniimo come out when a region's weather turns Prismana. You can wait for the weather, or you can change it yourself. Changing it yourself is the reliable route, but a region does not hand you that control on day one.
This guide covers what a region needs before its weather can be switched to Prismana, what the Change Weather menu does once it opens, and how to read the forecast so you know when the game will do the job for you.
Step one: catch enough of the zone's species
Everything starts with catching. Once you have caught around 40% of a zone's species, that zone's Bloom and its Prismana flow unlock. Until then there is nothing to switch on.
This is the part you control most directly, so it is worth treating as a target. Every new species you register in a zone moves you toward it, and duplicates do not.

What unlocks weather control in a region
Unlocking the Prismana flow is not the same as being able to change the weather whenever you like. What actually opens weather control in an area is not settled yet, and three conditions are tied to it.
The first is submitting 60 Amber pieces in that area. The second is earning the silver badge in that area. The third runs through the map system: you activate blooms and upgrade the region's bloom branch, which also fills out the nurture menu, and Prismana weather control becomes available at 60 percent completion of the bloom graph.
These overlap more than they compete. All three reward putting time into one area rather than spreading yourself thin, so the practical advice is the same whichever turns out to be the switch: pick a region, keep catching, spend your Amber there and push its bloom branch. The nurture side of that branch has its own guide on bloom shard offerings, so it gets only this sentence here.
Using the Change Weather menu
Once control opens, the work happens in the bloom's Change Weather screen. Prismana Crystals are used from that menu, and using one activates Prismana Flow. The weather-changing stone that does the same job comes through normal story progression and currency, so you are not locked out of it by luck. Activating Prism Flow with the weather stone, as in Echoback Landing, turns the weather prismatic.
Before you commit, read the screen. It previews which Aniimo can spawn during the event, Prismana included. If the creature you are after is not on that list, this region is the wrong place to spend a crystal.
The full mechanics of crystals and stones are covered in the guide to forcing Prismana spawns, so this article stops at what you need to get through the menu.
What Prismana weather gets you
Switching a region's weather to a Prismana storm is how you encounter rare variants and spawn Prismana creatures. That is the whole reason to chase the unlock. If you are hunting a particular Prismana Aniimo, the region it appears in is the region worth investing in first, because the preview on the Change Weather screen tells you exactly what that region can produce.
Reading the forecast
Aniimo has an active weather system, so regions change weather on their own as well. Zoom the map all the way out and click the sun icon. It shows a forecast of upcoming regional weather changes up to 24 hours in advance, along with a timer.
This is the cheap check to make before using anything. If a region is about to turn Prismana by itself, you can save your crystal and simply be there when the timer runs out. If nothing is coming, that is when the Change Weather menu earns its place.

Where to start
Pick one region and commit to it. Catch around 40% of its species to open the Prismana flow, then spend Amber, chase the silver badge and push its bloom graph until weather control opens. After that, check the sun icon forecast first and only use a crystal when the Change Weather preview shows the Aniimo you want.
