How to craft Legendary Aniipods in Aniimo
Legendary Tokens come from exploring, catching and the main story. Spend them on your own Aniipod, win the one fight, and the catch cannot fail.

The short version
- You earn Legendary Tokens through normal play: open-world exploration, catching Aniimo and main story progress all count.
- Legendary Tokens are spent crafting a personal Legendary Aniipod, and crafting it is what puts the legendary encounter on your map.
- Each legendary Aniimo gets a single scripted encounter. Defeat it, then throw your crafted Legendary Aniipod, and the catch always succeeds.
- The release version replaced the beta's repeatable, luck-based legendary capture with this token, craft and guaranteed-catch system.
- The Wind Chaser's Departure Anipod costs 49 Iris Petals to craft, and anything caught with it is guaranteed to be sparkling.
If you want to know how to get a legendary Aniimo, the answer starts well before the fight. Every legendary capture runs through an item you make yourself: the Legendary Aniipod. Without one, there is no encounter to find.
The system is simple once you see the order. You earn Legendary Tokens by playing, you craft a Legendary Aniipod with them, the encounter appears on your map, and you win a one-time battle. After that the catch is guaranteed. There is no luck involved and nothing to farm at the end.
How to earn Legendary Tokens
Legendary Tokens are not a separate grind. They arrive naturally through regular gameplay, and three activities feed them: exploring the open world, catching Aniimo, and pushing the main story forward.
That means the best way to get closer to a legendary is to keep playing the game the way it wants to be played. Wander off the path, catch what you find, and keep the story moving. A player who stalls on the story or ignores exploration will be slower to reach their first Legendary Aniipod.
Crafting your Legendary Aniipod
Legendary Tokens are spent on one thing: crafting your own Legendary Aniipod. The pod is personal and purpose-built, and it does two jobs. Crafting it makes the legendary encounter available on the map, and once you have won that fight, it is the pod you throw to bond with the legendary Aniimo.
The pod is also what lets you encounter and track the legendary in the first place. Think of crafting as the key that opens the door, not just the ball you throw at the end.
One point is not settled. The exclusive story sequence tied to each legendary is described both as something you must finish to unlock the Legendary Aniipod and as something that crafting the pod triggers, alongside the encounter on the map. Either way, crafting the pod and playing that story sequence go together, so expect both before the legendary is yours.
How the legendary encounter works
Each legendary Aniimo gets a single scripted encounter. You have to defeat it in battle first; it cannot be captured before that. Once it is beaten, you throw the Legendary Aniipod you crafted beforehand, and the catch always succeeds.
This is a deliberate change from the closed beta. In the beta, legendary capture was repeatable and based on luck. The release version replaced that with Legendary Tokens, a crafted Legendary Aniipod and one scripted encounter where defeating the legendary guarantees the catch. The pressure is now on winning the fight, not on rolling well afterwards.

- Throw the podThe catch is guaranteed and the bond forms.
Aniimo legendary Irisalis: the template
Irisalis (also written as Iris Alice) is the legendary that sets the pattern. Its crafted pod, the Legendary Iris Ani-pod, unlocks the encounter, you defeat Irisalis in its story encounter, and then you throw the pod for a catch that is guaranteed rather than random.
Other legendary encounters follow the same standard template. If you understand how Irisalis works, you understand the shape of every legendary capture. Irisalis has its own full guide on this site, which covers that fight in depth.
The Wind Chaser's Departure Anipod
There is a second legendary pod worth knowing about. The Wind Chaser's Departure Anipod (also called the Windchase Departure Anapod) is a premium pod, and crafting it requires 49 Iris Petals.
What you get for those petals is certainty about appearance. Any Aniimo captured with the Wind Chaser's Departure Anipod is guaranteed to be in sparkling form. If a sparkling version matters to you, this pod takes the chance out of it.

Where to start
Play normally to collect Legendary Tokens, spend them on a Legendary Aniipod, and treat the one scripted fight as the real test, because the catch after it cannot fail. If you want a sparkling catch, save 49 Iris Petals for the Wind Chaser's Departure Anipod.
