How to Reset Capability Awakening in Aniimo

Capability Awakening is where your Star Dust, Star Sand and Star Essence go. Here is what it spends, what caps it, and how to decide before you commit the materials.

The short version

  1. Capability Awakening lives in the training menu, alongside rank ups, skill customization and carried item management.
  2. Awakening Potential utilizes Star Dust, Star Sand and Star Essence, spent on individual stats in the capability awakening tab.
  3. Items such as Astranots raise an Aniimo's acquired potential, or growth value, up to a maximum of 10 per stat.
  4. Innate potential scales the cost: a higher starting potential means less Astranite to max a stat out.
  5. How many awakenings are available to an Aniimo depends on its growth stage and level, and capability slots and caps unlock progressively with resonant star rank and level.
  6. Potential is fixed at the moment of capture, so working out an Aniimo's role before you invest is what keeps materials from going to waste.

Capability Awakening is the system that turns a pile of Star Dust, Star Sand and Star Essence into permanent stat gains on one Aniimo. It sits in the training menu with your other per-creature options, and it is the one that quietly eats the most material.

It is also the one where the order of operations matters most. An Aniimo's innate potential is set the moment you catch it, and that value decides how expensive every stat is to push. Two of the same species are not the same investment.

This page covers what awakening spends, what limits it, and how to pick a target before the materials are gone.

Aniimo stats: the six attributes

Attributes are an Aniimo's stat values, and every Aniimo has six of them. Together they determine its strength.

The base stats are HP, Attack, Physical Defense, Regen, Magic Defense and Break. Those six are what Capability Awakening operates on. When you open the capability awakening tab and spend enhancement materials, you are spending them on one of those stats, not on the creature as a whole.

What awakening spends, and what caps it

You reach it from the training menu, which also holds rank ups, skill customization and carried item management. Inside the capability awakening tab, acquired potential is increased by spending enhancement materials on stats. Awakening Potential utilizes Star Dust, Star Sand and Star Essence.

Consuming items such as Astranots raises an Aniimo's acquired potential, also called its growth value, up to a maximum of 10 per stat. That ceiling is per stat, so a creature you intend to max everywhere is a long project rather than a single evening.

The cost is not flat across creatures. An Aniimo's innate potential value scales its enhancement costs, and a higher starting potential lowers the total Astranite needed to max a stat out. The same stat on two of the same species can be two different bills.

Maximum acquired potential per stat

Consuming items such as Astranots raises an Aniimo's acquired potential or growth value only up to 10 per stat, so anything beyond that is wasted material.

How many awakenings you actually have

The number of potential awakenings available to an Aniimo is determined by its growth stage and level. Capability slots and caps unlock progressively as well, both with resonant star rank and as the Aniimo's level rises. So a creature you just caught is not showing you its final ceiling.

Growth stage is the evolution line: Lumen is the initial base stage, the baby form, Gamma is the intermediate stage, and Nova is the third and fully evolved stage. Creatures have multiple forms and rare variants, and some evolve only under conditions unlocked by completing side quests. Our evolution guide covers that in full. The part that matters here is simply that stage and level gate how much awakening is on the table, so a low-stage Aniimo will show you fewer options than the same creature later on.

One shortcut is worth knowing. Catching an Alpha boss grants an already-evolved Aniimo, with no evolving needed on your part.

Growth stages that gate your awakenings
  1. LumenThe initial base evolutionary stage, an Aniimo's baby form.
  2. GammaThe second or intermediate evolutionary stage.
  3. NovaThe third and fully evolved stage of an evolution line.

Decide the role before you spend

Determining an Aniimo's designated role before investing resources is what prevents wasted development materials. That is the practical advice the whole system points at. Pick what this creature is for, then push the stats that serve it, rather than spreading material thinly across all six and finding out later that half of it was not doing anything.

The reason to be careful is that Potential is fixed at the moment of capture. You do not improve it on a creature you already own, which is why catching duplicates of the same species is the usual way to obtain one with better stats. If you want a better base to build on, the answer is out in the field, not in the menu.

Awakening is also not the only lever. Aniimo are made stronger through several progression systems: standard leveling, traits, potential in the form of Capability Points, resonance progression, carried equipment and runes. If a creature is underperforming, the fix is not automatically more Astranite. Check what else is empty first.

Where to start

Work out the role, check the innate potential of what you caught, then spend. Star Dust, Star Sand, Star Essence and Astranots all go in one direction, and a creature with better starting potential costs you less for the same result. If the one you have is a poor base, catch another of the species before you pour materials into it.
