Which Aniimo to bring: party roles and team building
A pure damage party stalls at bosses. Here is which Aniimo fill the support and DPS slots, and why you should fix each one's role before spending materials.

Building an Aniimo party comes down to one question: who deals the damage, and who keeps the team standing while they do it. Early on you can get away with ignoring the second half. Later you cannot.

Support and DPS: who does what in your Aniimo party
Two of the Aniimo worth knowing are supports. Nimbi is a wind element support, and Dewy is a dark element support. If your team has neither, it has nobody whose job is keeping the others going.
The damage side has more options. Celestis is a ranged damage dealer of the dark element. Helion is a close-range physical DPS, built for burst damage and aggressive combos. Shelly is also classified as a DPS Aniimo.
So the choice between your damage dealers is mostly about how you want to fight. Celestis hits from a distance. Helion wants to be up close, landing a burst and chaining combos. Elements and typings have their own page on this site; for team building, the role is the part that decides the slot.

Why a DPS-only team stops working
Late-game and boss encounters require a balanced team. That means healing and support alongside your damage, not a party made only of DPS. Stacking Celestis, Helion and Shelly together feels strong until the fights get long enough that nobody is covering for the damage you take.
The energy system pushes the same way. Your party shares a single collective energy pool; each Aniimo does not have its own. Every member is drawing on the same resource, so the team works as one unit rather than as separate fighters who each bring their own supply. A lineup is judged as a whole.
In practice: keep at least one of your supports, Nimbi or Dewy, in the party for anything difficult, and build the damage around them.
Pick the role before you spend materials
Every Aniimo has the same set of base stats: HP, Attack, Physical Defense, Regen, Magic Defense and Break. What differs is which of those matter for the job you give it.
That is why the order of decisions matters. Settle what an Aniimo is for before you put resources into it. Deciding its role first helps you avoid wasting development materials on a creature you later move into a different slot, or never field at all. Where to start
Choose one support (Nimbi or Dewy) and build your damage around it. Use Celestis if you want range, and Helion if you want close-range burst. Decide each Aniimo's role before you spend a single development material on it.
