Inheritance: Moving Progress Between Aniimo
Inherit moves the training from an old Aniimo onto a better copy of the same species. Learn what carries over, how to set it up, and why releasing first loses it.
The short version
- Inherit moves the training and resources from one Aniimo onto a better copy of the same species, for example from an Elite onto a newly found Perfect.
- Stat gains from Kappa and Keeper fruit carry over on their own when you inherit. You don't have to do anything extra.
- You can't refund Resonance star-up investments, but you can move them to another Aniimo in the same family through Inherit.
- Releasing an Aniimo refunds nothing: Prismatic Stones, Resonance consumables, Star Sand and Star Essence are gone unless you reset or transfer them first.
- Take the old Aniimo out of your party before you start. In the menu, the source goes on the left and the recipient on the right.
You've spent materials on an Aniimo, and now a better copy of the same species turns up. Maybe it's the Perfect you were hoping for, sitting next to the Elite you settled on. You don't have to choose between the two or start the new one from scratch.
Inherit exists for this. It takes what you put into the old Aniimo and moves it to the new one. This guide covers what transfers, how to set it up, and the one mistake that throws the investment away.
What Inherit does
Inherit moves the training and resources from one Aniimo onto another. The standard case is moving an Elite's training onto a newly found Perfect of the same species.
The limit is in the name. This is for a better copy of the same Aniimo. Inherit won't move your investment onto whatever creature you happen to like more.
What carries over to the new Aniimo
The materials you spent on the old Aniimo move to the new one. That's the main reason to use Inherit instead of levelling a fresh catch by hand.
Fruit stats come with them. Stat effects from Kappa and Keeper fruit carry over automatically across generations, so you don't need to feed the new copy all over again.
Resonance star-up works differently. You can never refund it, but you can transfer it to another Aniimo in the same family through Inherit. Once you've spent on star-up, Inherit is the only way to keep that progress if you move to a different copy.
Setting up the transfer
First, check your party. An Aniimo in your party can't be used for Inherit until you remove it. If the old copy is still on your team, take it off before you open the menu.
The inheritance menu has two slots. The source Aniimo, the one giving up its investment, goes on the left. The recipient, the better copy you're keeping, goes on the right. Check which creature is in which slot before you confirm, because a swap sends everything the wrong way.
Don't release the old copy first
The tempting order is to release the old Aniimo once the better one arrives, and that's the expensive mistake. Releasing an Aniimo refunds none of the materials you spent on it: no Prismatic Stones, no Resonance consumables, no Star Sand and no Star Essence.
You only keep those materials if you reset or transfer the upgrades before the release. Since star-up can't be refunded at all, transferring is the only way to save that part. So inherit first, check the new copy has everything, and release after that if you still want to.
Release first
- Prismatic Stones, Resonance consumables, Star Sand and Star Essence are not refunded
- Resonance star up investments cannot be refunded
- Upgrades must be reset or transferred before release to keep them
Inherit first
- Training and resources move to a better copy of the same species
- Resonance star up investments can go to an Aniimo in the same family
- Stat effects from Kappa and Keeper fruit carry over automatically
Where to start
When a better copy of an Aniimo you've trained shows up, take the old one out of your party and open Inherit. Put the old copy on the left and the new one on the right, and transfer. Release the old copy only after the transfer is done, because releasing first throws away every material you spent on it.
