How to Upgrade Elite Aniimo to Perfect Rarity
Only some Elite Aniimo can become Perfect. Look for the animated sparkling aura on the icon, then put a Capability Fruit into its recommended stats.
The short version
- Not every Elite Aniimo can be upgraded to Perfect. The ones that can show an animated, sparkling potential aura on their icon, Grizbo being one example.
- A Capability Fruit grants plus one Initial Potential in an Aniimo's recommended stat, which is how an eligible Elite gets pushed over the line to Perfect.
- Your recommended stats are the two marked with thumbs-up icons on the stats panel. They are that Aniimo's two strongest natural attributes.
- A Perfect is marked by sunglasses on its golden tag, so you can tell at a glance whether the upgrade has taken.
- Do not use an Ultra Anipod on an egg that already guarantees Elite potential. It duplicates the guarantee and wastes the item.
Elite is the innate potential quality tier one step below Perfect. For a lot of players that gap is the difference between a creature they keep and one they replace, and the good news is that some Elites do not need replacing at all. They can be upgraded where they stand.
The catch is the word "some". Not every Elite Aniimo can make the jump. The ones that can are marked, and once you know the marker you can sort your box in a minute and stop spending resources on creatures that will never get there.

Elite vs Perfect: what actually separates them
Innate potential is not one number. It is tracked as a separate value for each stat, such as HP, attack and regen. Elite and Perfect are quality tiers laid over those values, with Elite sitting one step below Perfect.
Not every stat counts equally toward that tier. Open an Aniimo's stats panel and you will see thumbs-up icons next to two of them. Those mark its favourable, recommended primary stats: the two strongest natural attributes for that particular Aniimo. These are the stats the upgrade works on, so find them first.
Higher base or innate potential gives you a better starting point, which means fewer upgrade resources are needed to reach Perfect. That is why an Elite is worth looking at closely before you write it off. It starts close.
Spotting a sparkling Elite Aniimo
Only some Elite Aniimo can be upgraded to Perfect quality. The eligible ones show an animated, sparkling potential aura on their icon. Grizbo is one example. If an Elite's icon is static, it is not a candidate for this upgrade.
The aura is a marker of potential, and it is worth keeping separate in your head from the other rare traits an Aniimo can carry. A single Aniimo can hold several rare attributes at once, combining Alpha size, sparkling variations, alternate forms and high potential. So a creature can be rare in more than one way, and the sparkling potential aura on the icon is the one that tells you the Elite to Perfect upgrade is open.
Sparkling Elite
- Shows an animated, sparkling potential aura on its icon
- Can be upgraded to Perfect with a Capability Fruit
- Grizbo is one example
Ordinary Elite
- No sparkling aura on its icon
- Cannot be upgraded to Perfect with a Capability Fruit
- Can still reach the same maximum stats, but needs more resources
Using the Capability Fruit on a sparkling Elite
The tool for the job is the Capability Fruit, often shortened to Capa Fruit. On an eligible Elite it grants plus one Initial Potential in the recommended stat. Fruit raises stats by +1 each, so a pair of nine-and-nine potential stats becomes ten and ten.
The exact finish line is not settled. Feeding fruits to an Elite+ Aniimo until its primary stats reach 10 raises it to Perfect rank. Using a Capa Fruit on a Sparkling Elite Aniimo is also described as raising its primary stats to 16 points, turning it into a Perfect. Separately, the fruit is described as adding one point to each of the two recommended innate potential stats up to a maximum of nine. These figures do not line up, so watch the tag rather than counting toward a number.
The tag is the reliable signal. A Perfect is marked by sunglasses on its golden tag. If the sunglasses are there after you feed the fruit, the upgrade is done.
What a Capability Fruit does in general, outside this upgrade, is its own unsettled question: it is variously described as raising all six innate potential attributes, unlocking an innate potential, or boosting the two recommended stats, and it is also said to upgrade lower rarity tiers. Other ways to raise potential, and what not to waste
The fruit is not the only lever. Potential can be raised after capture using items through Capability Awakening in the training menu, and Stardust is what you spend to put points into those stats. Stardust also covers potential upgrades and modifying IV stats, so it gets pulled in several directions. How Capability Awakening works in Aniimo covers that system properly.
Potential is also only one part of an Aniimo's strength. Standard leveling, traits, potential (Capability Points), resonance progression, carried equipment and runes all make an Aniimo stronger, and you can train your Aniimo to increase their stats.
Lower-grade Aniimo can reach the same maximum stats as higher-grade ones, but they need more resources to get there. That is the real case for chasing a sparkling Elite. The ceiling is the same; the bill is smaller.
One easy mistake: do not use an Ultra Anipod on an egg that already guarantees Elite potential. It merely duplicates that guarantee, gives no additional potential benefit, and wastes the item.
Some Perfects come from a set route instead. A perfect Pawney starts with catching Helmut. Evolve a perfect Helmut during The Legend of Helmuts and Helgons quest, before pulling the sword, and you get a guaranteed perfect Pawney.
Where to start
Check your Elites' icons for the animated sparkling aura before spending anything. Find the two thumbs-up stats on each eligible one, feed it Capability Fruit, and stop when the golden tag shows sunglasses. Anything without the aura goes on the slower path through Capability Awakening and Stardust, or gets replaced.
