Selling Egg Heist loot: Eggshell Coins, relics and essences
Heist loot stays in your backpack until you move it yourself. Here is how to cash it in, and why relics, essences and pink essence should stay off the sell list.
The short version
- Loot you extract from an Egg Heist stays in your backpack afterwards. Move it to the inventory by hand before you can sell it.
- After the match, sell extracted loot through the relic section of the backpack menu.
- Relics and essences upgrade your Egg Heist talents. They are easy to sell by mistake from the inventory's All tab, so check that tab before you sell in bulk.
- Deeper talent nodes need rarer resources such as pink essence, so don't sell those.
- Collectibles go on a stand in the collection display case for unlocks, and Egg Heist eggs give Prismana Shell Shards when you hatch them.
Egg Heist eggs, relics, essences and collectibles all come home with you when you extract. Turning them into Eggshell Coins is easy. Knowing what to keep is the harder part.
Extracted items become currency, either when you sell them at the shop or automatically when you exit. In practice, a lot of it stays in your backpack after the run and does nothing until you move it yourself.
This page covers moving loot out of the backpack, what selling gets you, and which items earn more when you keep them.
Moving Egg Heist loot out of the backpack
Loot you extract from a heist stays in the backpack afterwards. It does not file itself away. You have to move it to the inventory by hand, and until you do, you can't sell it.
Once it is in the inventory, sell it after the match through the relic section of the backpack menu. That gets you Eggshell Coins.
Some items become currency automatically when you exit, and others wait for you to sell them at the shop. If a run's haul seems to have disappeared, look in the backpack first.
What Eggshell Coins are worth
Egg Heist runs pay an exclusive currency that you spend in the Egg Heist Shop on things like talent nodes. Its name is not settled. It appears as Eggshell Coins, shell shards, Prismana and Umbrals. Whatever the label, it is easy to earn. Runs pay it, and so do the mode's daily and weekly chests.
Runs also hand out flames and shards as you progress through them. A mysterious vendor sometimes turns up inside Egg Heist dungeons, usually near an entrance or exit.
Your selling should account for one thing: Egg Heist rewards do little for your progression outside the mode. Outside the heist, loot is mostly worth the silver it sells for. Inside the heist, some of it is worth far more than its sale price. The full shop and rank breakdown is in the Egg Heist ranks, shops and rewards guide.
Relics and essences to keep
Relics and essences upgrade your Egg Heist talents. Selling them turns a talent upgrade into some quick currency, and the currency is the easy part to replace.
Rarity matters here. Deeper nodes in the talent tree need rarer resources such as pink essence. Common essences come back on later runs. The rare ones that gate the deep nodes are the ones you will regret selling.
The usual way to lose them is the inventory's All tab. It mixes relics and essences in with everything else, so selling from it quickly is how talent materials go by accident. Sell from the relic section and check what is selected before you confirm.
Collectibles and the display case
Egg Heist has a collection display case that you can complete. The collectibles you find during raids go on a stand there, and placing them earns unlocks. Don't treat them as sell fodder. A collectible you sold is one more you have to find again before the case is finished.
Badges work differently. They are achievements recorded in the badge book. Nothing documented gives them a shop function, so there is nothing to sell or spend there.
Egg Heist eggs and Prismana Shell Shards
Prismana Shell Shards come from Egg Heist in two ways. You sometimes find them as rare loose loot, and you get them by hatching the eggs you collect, Umbral eggs included.
The amount depends on the egg. A standard ruins egg gives one. Rarer eggs are the ones worth carrying out, because you hatch them for shards instead of selling them off with the rest of the backpack.
Where to start
After each run, move everything from the backpack to the inventory and sell the plain loot through the relic section. Keep relics, essences (pink essence above all), collectibles and eggs. Never bulk-sell from the All tab.
