Egg Heist ranks, shops and rewards
Seven ranks, one boat, and a backpack you can lose in a second. Here is how Egg Heist actually pays you.
The short version
- Egg Heist has seven ranks in total, and progressing through them hands out rewards as you go.
- During the beta, some Egg Heist rewards were obtainable only through its PvP mode.
- Eggs you are carrying count for nothing until you interact with the boat and submit them.
- A Pathfinder can extract safely at the boat after completing any one personal objective: submitting one Aniimo Egg, or collecting a set amount of Eggshell Coins.
- The coin threshold for that objective is not published, and the February 4 update reduced it significantly.
- Dying or fainting on a run costs you your carried items, your backpack and your equipped gear.
- Backpacks are sold in the Egg Heist mode shop for 5,000 coins.
- Items and resources you extract can be sold for eggshell coins, including through a bulk sell-all interface.
- Extracted eggs are delivered to the in-game mailbox and have to be collected from there.
Egg Heist is the source for eggs you cannot get anywhere else. Darkler variant eggs come from here, and Operation Egg Heist offers a broader selection of egg types on top of that, including rare eggs and Aniimo forms with no other source in the game. What hatches from them is another article's subject. This one is about the machinery around the eggs.
The mode's format is not settled yet. It has been a competitive race between teams, a PvP-only variant in teams of three, a real-time PvEvP mode in the Lost Isles, a two-team objective match, a bracket of up to six three-player teams over a single objective, and a PvE-only cooperative mode with no PvP combat at all. The main Operation: Egg Heist page covers that in full.
What does hold across all of it is the progression underneath: seven ranks, a currency, a shop, and a set of rules about what you keep when the run ends.
Seven ranks, paid out along the way
Egg Heist has seven ranks in total. Progressing through them provides rewards over time, so the climb pays as you go rather than holding everything back for the top. That matters for how you treat early runs. They are not warm-up.
One wrinkle from the beta is worth knowing before you plan a route through the ranks. Certain Egg Heist rewards were obtainable exclusively through its PvP mode. If you stuck to cooperative play, some of the reward list was simply out of reach, no matter how many successful runs you stacked up. This is the kind of thing that can move between builds, so treat the beta arrangement as the beta arrangement.

The boat is the only thing that counts
Carrying an egg is not the same as owning it. Carried eggs must be submitted by interacting with the boat to be evacuated. Until you have done that, everything in your hands is still in play.
A Pathfinder can extract safely at the boat after completing any one personal objective. There are two ways to satisfy it: personally submit one Aniimo Egg, or personally collect a set amount of Eggshell Coins. The exact coin amount is not published, and the February 4 update reduced it significantly, which makes the coin route a far more realistic exit than it used to be. If eggs are not going your way, coins can still get you out.
What you extract does not appear in your bags. Eggs extracted from Egg Heist are delivered to the in-game mailbox and must be collected from there. Check it after a session. A successful run that you never open is a run you have not actually banked.
Submit an Aniimo Egg
- Personally submit one Aniimo Egg at the boat.
- Completing this one objective allows a safe extract.
- Carried eggs only count once handed to the boat.
Collect Eggshell Coins
- Personally collect a set amount of Eggshell Coins.
- The exact coin amount is not published.
- The requirement was significantly reduced in the February 4 update.
What dying costs
Dying or fainting during a run causes you to lose your carried items, your backpack and your equipped gear. Not just the haul. The container and the kit as well.
Read that against the shop prices and the risk becomes concrete. Backpacks can be purchased from the Egg Heist mode shop for 5,000 coins, so a single bad fight late in a run wipes the loot and puts you back in front of the shop counter to replace the thing that was holding it. This is the argument for extracting early rather than pushing for one more egg. The personal objective exists precisely so you have a cheap, legitimate reason to leave.

Turning a haul into eggshell coins
Items and resources extracted from Egg Heist can be sold for eggshell coins, and there is a bulk sell-all interface for doing it in one action. You do not have to price things one at a time, which suits a mode that sends you home with mixed junk from monsters and the map.
Those coins are what feed the mode shop, and the shop is what gets you back on your feet after a loss. The loop is tight: extract, sell, re-equip, run again. Since the shop is where a replacement backpack comes from, it is worth keeping a floor of coins in reserve rather than spending down to nothing. Getting wiped with an empty balance is the one state in this mode that actually stalls you.
Where to start
Run it for the eggs you cannot get elsewhere, but treat the boat as the goal rather than the exit. Submit one egg, or hit the coin objective, and leave. Keep enough eggshell coins banked to replace a backpack, because eventually you will need to.
