Egg Heist ranks, shops and rewards

Egg Heist has its own rank, and it rises through successful extractions on expeditions. Dying with a full bag does nothing for you. What counts is the total currency value of the loot you get out, which sets your end-of-match rating and your progression points toward Egg Emperor. Those points are tracked with egg marks.

That makes the ranking strategy simple: extract high-value items. An egg is the standard example. Inside a dungeon, purple and gold chests hold higher-tier loot than common chests, so open those first.

Rank is worth chasing for its own sake. Each rank you reach grants its own set of rewards, including guaranteed legendary shards. Rank also decides which difficulty modes you can pick. Egg Heist has several, including Normal, Hard, Nightmare and Chaos, and your ranking determines which are open to you.

You also get a soft start. When Operation Egg Heist unlocks, it begins in a beginner protection state that is active at lower ranks and covers your first three matches. If you die during that window, you spend one charge of protection instead of losing your backpacks and loot.

Operation Egg Heist rewards a broad selection of special eggs. The rare ones are Prismana eggs and Umbral (Darkler) eggs, which competing teams extract and which are awarded to you on extraction. That makes the mode the place to farm Umbral eggs. In the beta it was the only place to get them, and rewards on Normal difficulty can include an Umbral egg, so you do not need to be high rank to start.

Prismana eggs are farmable too, with three Prismana egg rewards to work toward. What hatches is the point. These eggs produce usable regular, Umbral or Prismana Aniimo from any region, including fully evolved forms such as fully evolved Umbrals, and forms that cannot be obtained anywhere else in the game.

One line matters most. Dark (Umbra) Prismana forms come only from Prismana eggs taken in Egg Heist, and those eggs are guaranteed to hatch an Umbra Aniimo. If you want one, this mode is the whole route.

On PvP: certain Egg Heist rewards were obtainable only through its PvP mode during the beta.

Runs pay out in a currency that exists only for Egg Heist and is spent in the Egg Heist Shop. Its name is not settled in the game: it appears as Eggshell Coins, shell coins, shell shards, and even under the Prismana and Umbral names. This guide calls it Eggshell Coins. Badges are a separate thing. They are achievements recorded in the badge book, with no shop function.

Items you extract are turned into currency one of two ways: you sell them at the shop, or they convert automatically on exit. Selling has a bulk sell-all option. After a match, once your loot has moved to your inventory, you can also sell it through the relic section of the backpack menu.

Be careful with sell-all habits. Relics and essences from Egg Heist are what you upgrade your talents with, and they are easy to sell by mistake, notably from the inventory's All tab. Check what is selected before you confirm.

Keep expectations level. Egg Heist rewards are of little use for progression outside the mode, and most loot is mainly valuable for the silver it sells for. The eggs are what leave the dungeon with real value.

The talent tree is where your coins and materials turn into run power. Your Egg Heist currency buys talent nodes, and essence is spent to unlock and upgrade the perks themselves. Relics feed into talent upgrades as well, which is the other reason not to sell them blindly.

The tree gets more demanding as you go. Deeper nodes require rarer resources such as pink essence, so the common materials will only carry you through the early part.

Scavenger is a good early pick. Starting at Scavenger 1, it reduces the time needed to search chests and items. Less time standing over a chest is less time exposed, and more time to reach the purple and gold ones.

The Equip tab sells backpacks that add carry slots, along with defense units and attack amplifiers. Backpacks cost 5,000 coins. More carry slots means more loot out per run, which feeds straight back into your rating.

Equipment wears out. Gear such as amplifiers has durability, and repairing it costs shell coins. Repairing between runs, outside a dungeon, is cheap. Repairing mid-run costs more, so top everything up before you queue.

Keys are the other regular purchase. Door keys, blue keys included, can come from several places: you can bring them in from your inventory, buy them before a run from the Egg Heist vendor's shop or the black market dealer, buy them inside the dungeon from an NPC trader near the portal or side entrance, or find them in dungeon loot boxes. Sealed reward rooms in the Sanctum need a matching Sanctum key, which you buy in the Egg Heist shop.

Inside dungeons, a mysterious vendor sometimes appears, typically near an entrance or exit. The mode also has a collection display case for collectible items, which you can complete over time.

06Where to start

Spend your early coins on a backpack and the Scavenger talent, repair between runs rather than during them, and open purple and gold chests first. Keep your relics and essences out of every sell-all. Then farm eggs, because Egg Heist is the only source of Dark Prismana forms, and the eggs are the one reward that matters outside the mode.
