Where to find Alpha Stellarys, Luminelle, Leafy and Blazen
Alpha Stellarys sits at level 18 in a field south of the Forest of Falling Stars. Alpha Luminelle only comes at night, after a shooting star lands.
The short version
- Alpha Stellarys is a level 18 Dark-type found in a field south of the Forest of Falling Stars. It shows on the map, drops Night Stones when defeated, and can be captured as an early Stellarys.
- Alpha Luminelle spawns only at night in the far south, and only after a shooting star lands.
- Alpha Blazen is fought at the Blitz Tree in Blitz Wood, as one step of evolving Bolty into Blazen. You stand beneath or on the tree to trigger it.
- In Beast Fang Ridge the silver collection badge needs 70% capture progress and a defeated Alpha Scorchhowl. Capture progress alone will not get you there.
- Alpha Stellarys's Shooting Stars fires five homing stars and gives it a damage boost that scales up to 20%, and chain attacks from Alpha Baldus can kill linked players.
The headline Alphas get the guides. This page is for the others: the ones in a field off the main path, the ones that only appear at night, and the one that waits under a tree until you bring the right creature.
Most of these Alphas follow the same rule. You find the boss in the wild, beat it, then catch it. Where they differ is in when and where they turn up, and in a few fight mechanics that will catch you out if nobody warned you.
Stellarys and Luminelle come first, because those are the two people search for most. Leafy, Blazen, Rookey, Scorchhowl and Ignitis follow, and the last section covers the attacks worth knowing before you pull.
Alpha Stellarys: the field south of the Forest of Falling Stars

Stellarys lives in the Forest of Falling Stars, and it can appear as an Alpha. It is also one of the creatures you can get by nurturing a branch, so if you can't win the fight you still have a slower route.
The fight is the faster route. A level 18 Dark-type Alpha Stellarys sits in a field south of the Forest of Falling Stars, and it is marked on the map, so you don't need to hunt for it. Beat it and you get Night Stones. Then you can capture it, which is how you get a Stellarys early.
The ability to respect is Shooting Stars. It fires five homing stars, so sidestepping won't save you, and each use grants Stellarys a damage boost that scales up to 20%. The longer the fight goes, the harder it hits. End it quickly.

How to spawn Alpha Luminelle

Alpha Luminelle has strict conditions. It spawns only at night, only in the far south, and only after a shooting star lands. If it's daytime, or you are in the wrong part of the map, you will not see it however long you wait.
Luminelle's kit and forms have their own guide on this site. What matters here is the spawn: get south, wait for night, and watch for the shooting star.
Alpha Leafy and Alpha Blazen

Leafy appears as an Alpha, and that form is the one worth capturing. Getting it works like most Alphas: find the boss in the wild, defeat it in battle, then catch it. Its Mistwoods spawn and support kit are covered in Leafy's own guide.
Blazen works differently. You don't stumble on Alpha Blazen in a field. It is part of evolving Bolty into Blazen. One step of that evolution takes place at the Blitz Tree in Blitz Wood, where you stand beneath or on the tree and fight the Alpha Blazen. If you want a Blazen, bring a Bolty and go to the tree.
Rookey, Scorchhowl and Ignitis

Alpha Rookey has a useful fallback. Standard Rookey, the ordinary non-Alpha version, can be caught in the area around the Alpha Rookey spawn. If the Alpha won't stay in a ball, you still leave with a Rookey.
Alpha Scorchhowl is worth beating for a different reason. Each region's silver collection badge needs 70% capture progress there. In Beast Fang Ridge it also needs a defeated Alpha Scorchhowl. However much of the ridge you have caught, the badge stays locked until Scorchhowl falls.
Ignitis is an Alpha boss too. Treat it like any other Alpha fight and prepare properly before you go in.

Chains, adds and other fight mechanics
Two Alpha fights punish groups that don't pay attention, and both use chains.
Alpha Baldus uses Chain Snares. Players linked by the chain lose HP over time until it is resolved, and they can die from it. Deal with the chain first. Ignoring it is how players get killed.
In the Alpha Luminel fight, a robot add spawns at the edge of the arena and chains one player. Keep an eye on the edges so the add doesn't get a free start on someone.
The Stellarys rule applies here as well. Any boss that gets stronger the longer the fight runs should be burst down, not worn down slowly.
Where to start
If you want an early Stellarys, go to the field south of the Forest of Falling Stars and beat the level 18 Alpha marked on the map. If you want Luminelle, go far south at night and wait for a shooting star. Blazen means taking Bolty to the Blitz Tree. In Beast Fang Ridge, beat Scorchhowl before you count on the silver badge.
